Subaru 4 pots!

So I was lucky enough to get a great set locally here in Tacoma. They are in great shape with only minor chips and scuffs. I went with these over brembo because I wanted to keep 17in wheels and I think the Subaru logo is way cooler to put on the Brz.

The fronts fit perfectly, I have 17x7, +42 Tenzo R wheels and there is clearance for days. Bolts straight up using stock bolts.

The rears are a little less direct swap, the sti rotors don't work with our ebrake system. Our ebrake circumference is huge in comparison. Also gonna need some brackets for them to fit.

The weight difference on the fronts are pretty good also, 11.8lbs for the 4 pots and 14lbs for the stockers.

The overall rotor diameter is the same on both front and rear, as with the rotor width. So in theory, you could use stock rotors with these brakes.

- Subaru 4 pot fronts
- ebc red pads
- ebc slotted and dimpled rotors
- Subaru 2 pot rears (pending)
- ebc red pads rears (pending)
- ebc slotted and dimpled rotors rear (pending)

And just in case anyone wants these, they come stock on the 06-07 WRX's. You can also find them off the early JDM WRX/STi's 93-01. The old WRX/Sti calipers will have painted raised Subaru letters, where the new calipers will use a flat sticker. Hope this helps

Thanks,
Rick

Title says 05 STi brakes but these are clearly 06-07 WRX brakes.

Confusing OP. As the above poster says, these aren't STI brakes...or at least not "modern" STI brakes. I believe these were JDM STI brakes on the first gen, but calling them STI brakes is a misnomer.

FWIW, you can fit those rears to the our car with a bracket from KNS (Mach V also carries it) and IIRC, continue to use our rear discs.

The rotors on the rear are the same diameter. Needs brackets to mount the calipers. Wrx rotors won't work due to ebrake. Driving, will post later

Different mounting ears; the bracket to fit a Z32 turbo caliper to a WRX are far harder to come by than the bracket to fit 06/07 FHI 4 pots.

Can the OP change the title of the thread as these aren't STi brakes.

No bracket. Mounting ears are the same distance as the dogbone bracket for our sliders.

For the people who says rotors dont matter, IT DOES. Just look at the weight difference, it reduces rotating mass and has the same effects as going with lightweight rims. With that being said, I might consider these, I cannot believe I passed on these when I found a fresh 06 WRX at the junkyard. DOH!
