Broken Trailing Arm!
Turning into our drive way heard a bit of a thunk. Mmmmm, that doesn't sound good/normal. Car feels a little weird turning around drive way. Jack up the rear and start to remove wheel. Wow, the wheel seems to have more back/forward movement than what I remember. Peer in and wtf?!
Trailing arm has broken!

That's an aftermarket link, here's what OE looks like:
Edit: This is Megan's picture of another Subaru, point is, it's not adjustable. |

Took its sweet time to fatigue. I see the weld but more than that failed. Can't really make it out.

Looks to me like the threaded stud was just butt welded to the rest. Not well welded either. The rust at the joint means that there was a big enough gap in the weld and between the components to let water get in there.

Picture removed until manufacture can be traced/contacted.
I'm just thankful it happened doing about 5 km/hr!
