Yes you need 04 compatible front rotors to fit the front brembos.

So would doing just the front completely screw up the brake bias?

The cost of this setup is depressing. I did a full brembo swap on my sentra for around $800 with used parts.

Haven't tested this on a BRZ, however we raced with larger brakes up front on our Subaru race cars (96 Impreza, 94 Legacy Turbo, 97 Impreza Swap) and we never had issues of brake bias that we couldn't correct with pad selections.

Hi, King Tut, I just got the 08 STI calipers, I would like to know more thing before I start the project. am I going to reuse the bolts from oem brakes calipers? What other things do I need to be concern beside the bleeder valves. Don't want to stuck on the project and occupying my friend's garage for few days on waiting parts and parts may have chance for back order. That happened to me once when I was doing my Z project at my own house. Really painful.

I am still waiting the brake lines and rotors and (front line and rear rotors are back order at this time), so I have a like of time to wait so I will get all of them at once and install them without any "STOPS". Please let me know what else is there that I need to be concern, thanks.

That's the ghetto way of doing it...but exactly what I did on my WRX because front bias even with the stock sliders was ridiculous.

Yes you reuse the OEM bolts. The main concern with those calipers is that they are FULLY aluminum, including the threads in the mounting ears. MANY people have had to Heli-coil/Time-Sert those holes with steel inserts because the bolts either practically welded themselves to the calipers through galvanic corrosion OR they damaged the threads while removing the bolt. My personal set (still torn apart over a year later ) has Time-Sert steel inserts just because I wanted to prevent any possibility of downtime in the future due to a #&*^ed thread.

He meant use the OEM BRZ or the OEM STI caliper mounting bolts. The bolts are different, so if you are doing this swap, make sure your calipers come with the STI caliper mounting bolts or here are the part numbers:

Front 901120103 ($3.67 x 4) M12 x 37 bolt
Rear 901000326 ($2.82 x 4) M10 X 38 bolt

I don't remember if I put anti-seize on mine or not, but I didn't have the torque specs at the time, so I used the German torque spec of guttentite with my standard 3/8" ratchet. I will probably apply some anti-seize to try and make sure they always come out when I need them to.

I'm not sure ghetto is the right wording. But yes, optimally, a matched front and rear setup is desired. Sometimes in racing you have to pick and choose your mods wisely.

I will caution, that unless one is doing this upgrade for a car with more power or some kind of sanctioned racing, or purely aesthetics, these brakes are a waste of time and money.

On the second half of that, use a ton of antisieze because 80% of the brembos we remove for rotor replacements end up having to be helicoiled.

Adding the rear brembos actually puts more bias forwards. Sounds backwards, but it's due to the piston sizes compared to stock.

So the bias is actually better with just the front brembos.
