Another huge factor many have not addressed is whether or not you'll be modifying the car immediately or let the warranty expire first. Based on your posts you won't be doing much modifying. I'd say get the 2015 with a color you actually prefer for a little more. Also remember the 10 series may be a limited run, but it's still technically a 2 year old car already.

IMO I would wait till the 15 comes out so you can look at the color in person as pictures dont do anything justice seeing the car and color in person will help you decide if you like the color scheme or not. And if you don't just get the older models or the 10 series like you said in New England the FR-S are almost a dime a dozen at dealerships at least when I went to buy my 14 whiteout I saw monogram and 10 series and other various colors all over the dealer lots.

Leaning towards a 15. Right now, rebates on 10 series 13s are 2K. If Inventory of 13s doesn't go down by the time 15's Roll in, I would think Toyota will become more aggressive.

there are a LOT of awesome creature comforts on the 10 that you don't think you want until you actually have them. Auto Climate Control and Push Button with SmartKey are absolutely clutch and I couldn't imagine the car without it. The Silver Ignition paint adds a touch of class to the silver car and makes it look very Porsche'esque. Plus the 2014 Navi Unit it comes with is leaps and bounds over the 2013 radio.

I LOVE my 10 Series and would ONLY trade it for a Monogram Convertible and ONLY if it was available in Silver Ignition.

Plus if it's $23k that's a good 6k less than I paid for mine.......

10 series all the way! Love the push start and touch to unlock. And the HIDs. It may be an older model year but the mileage will hopefully show it doesn't have two extra years of driving on it :-P

If they still have the 10 series on the lot when 2015 come out, yea it should be more aggressive. But why not go with the 10 series and repaint it? (wait for the 2015 to come out if you can) Sounds like you'd be saving MUCH more than a GOOD paintjob. Yea it's 2 years old, but like @jeffsquared said, 2 year old with no mileage and it's a limited production model should definitely help resell. You're paying premium for a 2015 base with no creature comforts, some that Scion doesn't even offer as add on if you want it in the future. With the numbers you've given, seems like the 10 series with a new paint job will still save you more money than a 2015...basically getting all those creature comforts for free.

If you're ok with the color, I'd go with the silver 10 series. That's a great price for the amount of features that you get.

I'm not a big fan of the color, but my coworker saw one on the road and excitedly came up to me the next day saying how great it looks. So there are definitely people out there who love that color.

Get the 10. Price is outstanding.

By the time the '15 comes out I'm sure that 10 will be long gone (at that price).

Never heard of the halo color, is it a white? Silver Ignition actually has the potential to appear white under certain lighting.

Plus, those headlights!

Having said that, White has been my favorite all along (though I know its changed slightly for 15). You're right, color is such a personal thing. Any mods I make would be minor. I'm in my 40's so entering mid-life crisis time and reliving the late 80's and early 90's when I had a Honda Prelude Si and salivated over Integras, CRXs, Supras and Celicas (remember the Celica All-Trac Turbo anyone?). The only other vehicle I'd consider right now is a Boxster S, but I can't spend $70k on a car.

I'm away for a couple weeks but when I get back, I'll see if the dealership can get an allocation of the 15s (they weren't on the schedule last week). If not, I might just take the 10 Series. It's a manual, so I'm in. SIRSOL66, I'll be glad to tell you where to get this car via PM.

On another note I know the sales manager at the dealership well. He said to me that once the FR-S is discontinued, demand and resale will be high. Seems like a crazy statement given the number of new 2013 model years for sale in the New England region, but Toyota has a history of selling cars that struggled sales-wise as new, but as resale, have held their value tremendously. FJ Cruisers are about to go through this, MR2 Spyders and even Toyota Echos which look like clown cars to me are worth all the money.
As a person who works for Toyota and is responsible for the parts, via TSB, warranty issues for this car...Imo if I were you i'd wait for a 2015. Reason being is because it will be the 3rd year and mostly all the TSB/issues the 2013 and 14's have had will already be remedied before they hit the lot. Anything that you find after will be something new for the most part except for the crickets which shouldn't be as loud (always a chance of otherwise i guess) if/when you have them. Should you have to take it back to the dealer the problems will be/should be at a minimum. I love my car but if I could do it over again I would buy a 2015 since they have seen the issues and corrected them mostly.

Ok, great arguments for the 10 Series. When I get home in 10 days, if it's still available, I may just grab it!

Ok, I'm getting swayed back to the 10 Series. Either way, it's an FR-S, so there is no loss either way.

I'm out of town til the 24th. If the 10 Series is still in stock, I'm going to take a serious look at it and maybe grab it.
