Bump.
We're considering the idea of developing a RCE Rally-x spring set. Let us know your thoughts. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125863 And to contribute to this thread: Also, we now carry BRAID wheels if you're looking for strong wheels in 16 inch (possibly 15 inch) sizes that clear OEM brakes. - Andrew Last edited by Racecomp Engineering; 03-15-2018 at 02:34 PM. |

How bout a full coilovers set? I need a reasonable priced coikover set so I can make the jump to stage rally next year.

Will the Anderson 2" lift kit, 16x7 Sparco Terra's and BFGoodrich T/A KO2 215/65R16 work with stock suspension? Or is there other modification that has to be done?

Starting to get my BRZ setup to have a more rallyish look, mods are mostly cosmetic for now but am hoping to get a set of RCE's Rally-x springs if they ever do a run, and maybe an ADF lift down the line. Right now I have a set of Hella 500ff and 500 Amber driving lights, Rally Armor Mudflaps, and 205/55R-16 Blizzaks mounted on Sparco Terras.
Here's a few pics I took today after doing some snonuts: |

So yesterday I've installed Anderson Design & Fab 2-inch spacers and changed the wheels from 225/35R18 to 215/65R16. Took me like 6 hours (mostly because of my own incompetence). And I got...mixed results. First of all it definitely feels more comfortable driving (which is one of the things I was going for), there is minimal rubbing - mostly at full lock. But I also get a strange knocking sound at the front from small bumps. Like metal on metal. I'm thinking it might be the end links because the actual coilovers sitting much lower now, so the end links or sway bar is hitting something. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd appreciate any feedback on this issue.

As far as the metal sounds, I'm not sure. Perhaps check the top hats to make sure everything is tightened? Or check the end links of the suspension? Did you also get LCA's for camber correction in the back or any other supporting mods?

No rubbing in the back that I can see. And there's only 2 spots up front where it's rubbing, that I can see: small spot on the front bottom liner, I think I can get that with a heat gun. Another is the Rally Armor mudflaps, or more specifically, the bottom inside portion of the bracket. I'll definitely do some cutting and grinding.
As far as LCA's in the back, the lift kit I bought came with extra 1-inch spacers for the whole subframe, so I'm not sure LCA's are even necessary. This is what I got: Spacers The knocking sound, my theory is that because the struts now sit 2 inches lower, the end-links push the sway bar lower and it's making contact with the steering shafts. I've ordered shorter end-links, see if that fixes the problem. Will take more pics when I install the end-links, do some trimming, and get a wash. |
