The better question is, why would the belt even snap? With proper design and regular maintenance, this is a non-issue.

When was the last time you broke a belt on your car with regular checkups?

However, you are correct, in that 1 belt controls it all.

I was just curious, as I'd heard of a some issues with the vortech kit, and I figure if it's not hard to insert that kind of fault isolation then why not go with it.

Then again, I'm an engineer. I'm always seeing potential faults even when the chance of them happening is minuscule.

If you have any technical questions, I can ask either Oscar directly when I see him soon,or ask CSG David (he is an engineer by trade)

It's really no big deal. Like I said, I was just curious. If it was a major potential issue, I'm sure some other method of driving the SC would have been utilized.

Humbly, I disagree. The belt was picked by the factory to handle a certainly amount of load, these superchargers (be it vortech, innovate, or Jackson) are probably doubling or more the power transmitted by the belt. I would love to see some specs on what the belt is capable of and what the total load is with the sc added to the mix.

I understand your perspective, but we do have a lot of experience with 1 belt setups that utilize the Rotrex C30-94, and have never had belt problems, even with a REALLY tight tensioner, and with higher RPM loads. (S2000)

Both Ryan's S2k and David's S2k have run Rotrex C30-94 setups utilizing one belt. We took David's off after a lot of testing, but are continuing to push further with Ryan's S2k. It's currently at about 430hp with a catalytic converter in place.

While it's not an apples to apples comparison, we believe it's a decent litmus test.

Our Jackson Racing kit is going on next weekend, and we'll be fully documenting our install, along with before and after dynos.

I've even volunteered to do the install in my own garage, using only my own tools, to simulate the experience of the typical end user.

A Vortech isn't a Rotrex; the loads are different.

This kit has jumped to the top of my list. Great numbers and nice tq curve for a stock kit on pump gas
