Toyota GT86 Basic Drift Setup

Hello ,

So I have my 2013 GT86 manual gear and want to start building it as a drift car but keeping the same engine without upgrading, reading and asking alot about what to do, the car as we know it does not have so much power but with correct setup it might give you more, Ive been practicing on drifting for a while now using a 350Z and G35 which had basic setup ( suspensions, wheels, E-Brake ) using the stock engine , knowing that the GT86 is lighter it could do better

What I have in mind to change is the following :

1. change the current LSD with a LSD 2-Way
2. Coilovers system
3. Semi-Slick Tires 195-210/35 and 16 inch or 15 inch rims
4. Hydraulic Handbrake
5. Airfilter/Headers/Catback

This is how i want to start with the car problem is im not that good to know which parts to buy, if someone can advice me would be better

You're missing high angle steering knuckles. It's what makes a drift car.

So much trolling in this tread right now.. The car is RWD and has an LSD, increase your rear tire pressure and that is enough to start.

Funny, setting up my RC drift cars has definitely given me much more insight into setting up my real car. Tires, very important, camber and toe, and lastly suspension rebound. after that some practice and skill will go a long way

But jeremy clarkson says you can drift it while reading a book and none of you propose buying a book!

To "drift well" the only real thing you need is a 2-way clutch-type LSD.

Everything else is secondary. On stock tires you can slide all day.

This is me with the stock Torsen LSD:

I could've done better as far as connecting the manji transitions, it's really just poor driving skills + the Torsen acting like an open diff with sloppy transitions.
