Yeah the track is a bit too open, but it's the only track we got!

I need to get Mike Fogg so I can mess around during my free time, what app did you use for your lap times?

Your lap time is very good, a friends Subaru Forester did around 1.23, he used the raceChrono app for Android. Picks up the track and you just press start. Sadly it wasn't available on IOS.

Like the line you took on the long right hander!

@riri86 have you not tried Dezzi Racetrack? Would be nice to see some footage from that track,

Or do they only use Dezzi for Drag racing and drifting ?
(Have not seen a track video on the internet/youtube as yet)

I didn't have anything that day at Hesketh, but I normally use TrackAddict for the data log, and a cheapie Russian camera for the video. Then I merge the video and data log using RaceRender.

I have done drifting at Dezzi on the easy course with a 200sx. The track is much bigger now. Here is a nice video for you to have a look.

Thats not me BTW. Dezzi is used as a track as well. It's better to join a club tho like IBV or BMW club, they go often. I will join them next year.

Been a while since I have been on the forum, guess I'm enjoying my 86 a bit too much!

Well so far so good, my brakes are on their way out so I have been reading the brakes thread we have. Still haven't made up my mind yet with what I want.

Did my first performance upgrade if you can call it that

Swopped out my stock air filter.

For a JR performance air filter.

Honestly I never do too much research into the brand. I know K&N is the best but the opportunity was there so I just took it
The guys with the C63 locally swear by this filter. Would be nice to compare is to the K&N filter.

After the installation that took less than 2 minutes I ever notice much difference, tone and performance is the same.

Cheers guys!

Nice - stuck some Valenti lights on mine and I love them! Just makes that back end look so good.

Tell me - how was the process/importing/waiting time and did you get nailed for taxes etc?

Yeah I got nailed for Taxes, around 2k... thats about 20% of the invoice.

Parts were ordered first week of Nov, received them on the 20th. They provide tracking, but once its in SA you are in the blind.

Was rather easy to deal with the guys, emailed them the list of what I wanted, they worked out the shipping cost and told me. Sent me an invoice via PayPal and sorted. If you go through their website and check out you will probably have a heart attack looking at the shipping. That's why best to email. They use USPS

Plus the give 3% off your next purchase.

Yep, there are many online vendors especially in the US who really get their shipping to SA calc very wrong.
I've seen it where the shipping was 5x the cost of the item - LOL.

What @riri86 said is right - email them and let them give you a shipping quote.

@riri86 @Fisheagle

Thanks... I've also seen lots of nice bits I want. Taking my time and researching the hell out of everything, partly because I don't want to spend money on things I don't really need/want and partly because I plan on keeping my car for a long time, so would rather wait a wee bit longer and spend a little more for quality parts than rush into buying stuff.

Got my lights from RMS btw, so no hassles with importing etc.
Also imported something else recently (a running backpack) and got nailed with whar***e - was expecting the import duty and VAT, but what the hell is that?! (just another damn tax!)

Will be posting updates when I eventually get my brake upgrades

So... don't know why my word was censored - it should say "w.h.a.r.f.a.g.e"

Well any form of clothing expect to pay a lot... its falls under the whole luxury thing! There is a calculator

http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-im...x-calculation/

It's a pain to understand which category stuff falls under, just a tip... If you ordering stuff for the interior of the car. Try and get the supplier to label the contents as "Toy". You will save duty charges, of course they open 90% of the stuff, but if they realize its not a toy they will just charge you accordingly.

Also ask the supplier to under value, been buying a lot of stuff from overseas and they never asked me to produce an invoice. They use what the supplier gives to calculate duty charges.
