I know this isn't exactly relevant but some tv show pitted bike vs cop. It was some high performance bike against a confiscated Vette turned cop car. The corvette ended up winning in the end, but there was not real traffic. So not too surprised the bike had lost by few seconds.

Anyway like @Trojan_SC said, cops can call ahead and add more to chase and what's not to stop them from bumping you off the bike? Simple tap then smash.. you and the bike are toast. Unless you know what you're doing and planned ahead (again not condoning this).

Because that's a) use of deadly force; b) pre-meditated murder; c) assault with a deadly weapon; and d) on the police officer's dash cam.

If there's any kind of traffic, the bike wins.

They probably deserved it then. Ha

Yes, and the BRZ Limited is thousands more. I appreciate (not really) the sass, but my point is that insurance companies have plenty of ways to differentiate rates on cars no matter how similar they are, in the same way rates across companies differ. If you want to argue otherwise then be my guest, your conjecture is as good as mine.

It was an episode of Top Gear US, if I'm not mistaken. And, as those shows go (sadly), the entire race is scripted. Of course the car won, they don't want idiots on bikes thinking they can outrun the po po.

Yep, mine too. The people crashing them must not have insurance to begin with.

All the people complaining about insurance must not realize how diluted incidents like this are. What were the numbers? 24-25,000 sold so far? Maybe a couple hundred (if that) involved in some sort of reportable accident? I'm no expert in stats or insurance, but that seems like a pretty small amount.

UPDATE

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP -- Police say Luke Pfeiler, 21, of Brunswick, was the driver of the Toyota early Thursday morning that crashed into a township road department service vehicle on Windfall Road and state Route 18 here in Medina County.

They say that Pfeiler and his girlfriend were involved in a dispute, which prompted Pfeiler into sneak to her home and break into her car. After taking a few things and damaging the transmission, he left.

The girlfriend reported everything to police, who set up the return of the stolen items. However, while meeting with police, Pfeiler waited for the officer to get out of his vehicle and drove off.

Pfeiler drove through the Stonebrook Apartment complex at approximately 50 mph before crashing into a service vehicle.

The driver of the service vehicle was taken to Akron General Medical centerand is in fair condition. Pfeiler was taken by LifeFlight to MetroHealth Medical Center where he is listed in good condition.

Pfeiler's girlfriend told police that he'd talked about "suicide by cop" in the past.
