JDL Auto Design - 2014 Exhaust Products

I've got UEL headers and OP/FP on order and they told me Friday that they'd be going to coating mid/late this week. If uncoated they may be able to ship around that time.

Any updates on the catted UEL header? Is it still in the pipeline?

Ugh, still can't decide if I want to wait for the catted one or not since being in CA we can't have headers anyway I just don't know lol. The struggle is real.

I am holding out for catted, uncatted are much louder and would never pass the sniff test.

Might as well go uncatted since both are technically illegal, plus more power gain. Just run a front pipe with a HFC and a resonated exhaust and the sound is pretty tame with no rasp at all. I haven't been pulled over yet for a loud exhaust in CA with a resonated 2.5 perrin and uncatted UEL

If you're worried about smog, it only takes about 30 minutes to swap out to your stock header

Hm that's good to hear about the noise level.. I would prefer catless as it is illegal either way but I'm running a muffler delete now which seems to be awfully loud, no issues with the cops yet but it is loud. I know headers will open it up some more so idk I'd probably have to invest in another resonator/muffler at the least. Unless the cat would muffle it enough.

Only one cat in the front pipe will not be enough to keep the rasp down, unless you go with the nameless OP/FP catted and resonated option but having a big resonator in the catback helps alot.

Smell is not really an issue if you retain one of your cats

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread to post this, but I just wanted to state here how pleased I am with my JDL UEL header!

First off, I've worked with quite a few vehicles swapping out manifolds for an aftermarket unit, and these are a step above anything I've worked with before.

I've had fitment issues with some headers I've used in the past, but the flanges on this header sit perfectly flush against the head like it came from the factory. Beautiful weld beads along with a great polished finish made it seem like this should be displayed in art museum as opposed to be hidden underneath the car!

Sorry for the poor quality. Iphone FTL.

Packaging was also top notch. I liked the fact that there was so much bubble wrap packed in the box that I could hardly pull it out of there! It made me feel they made sure they did as much as they could on their end that I received my product as if I picked it up undamaged directly from their shop.

I bought this header back in April, and haven't had one complaint. It took me 7 days of research before I purchased my exhaust system. Even though I felt at the time the price was a tad high, I can say with confidence your money will be well spent on this product!

Here's my system: JDL UEL header, Perrin overpipe, Invidia front pipe, and an Invidia N1 catback with a Vishnu 93 tune. (again, sorry for the quality of the video).

How was the install - did you need any special tools? Mine is coming in soon, and I've heard a few bolts can be difficult to reach.
