I miss the Nameless Crew!!!

Coolest cats on the block, just wish they wouldn't spread themselves so thin that R&D times suffer.

In the end, he was trying to make the point that the stock header doesn't scavenge very well, and I think he made it. A dynamic test may reveal something different, of course, but this is the best most of us could do with what we have on hand. I disagree with his conclusion as to why but that's why we have conversions.
Just a thought, and a little benefit of the doubt. Maybe his primary language isn't English and he didn't mean for it to come out harsh like that.

Gotcha. I had that line of thought formulating, but it just seemed kind of rude to state that it seemed "obvious" when it apparently wasn't. Forums are for discussing and I always hate it when things are "explained" with an authoritative finality when most of us have no clue about the poster's credentials.

Thanks!

Testing versions 4 and 5. Jason is looking into using 321 stainless, too.

(for those who are unfamiliar, I would suggest the following link: http://www.burnsstainless.com/stainlesssteel.aspx )

321? For a turbo manifold that makes perfect sense. For NA power that seems like unneeded expenses passed along to the consumer. I doubt we'll see cracking from heat; though I haven't looked at EGTs on this engine.

Has much higher fatigue (vibration is a major cause) resistance at high temp. Plus their first designs have no flex sections. Also supercharger usefulness, or if they use it as a base for later turbo setup?

But he didn't actually say what it was for, just that he picked some up. STI manifolds even? It's probably just R&D, and given the direction the forum majority seems to be going, excessive. But it is the 'right' way to do things.

I have their axleback and love it!

Dimmann, if Jason wants me to measure the EGT in a closed loop for header temps, I can do so to see if this would be necessary. I agree though, I think the header would be overkill for most applications. On a side note, I may have to see what EGT we would see with having this and the avo kit. I was told that this header may be able to be used with this kit.
