Hope all goes well, hum.

Can’t wait to hear the stories about all the nurses you’ll have at your beck and call.

Now, what could go wrong there -

Just in case the operation doesn't go well, I have a few automotive things to leave to you folks.

@Tcoat - I leave my timing light

@Ultramaroon - I leave my dwell meter

@Sapphireho - I leave my set of feeler gauges

The rest of you, I leave the rest of my tools. First come first served.

Hopefully, I'll check back into the forum in a few days.

There's a few, beside the ones @cfd mentioned but they tend to come from smaller shops like the Hennessey Venom (based on the Exige) and the F5 and the SSC Ultimate Aero (fastest production car before the Veyron). Then there are the Saleens, and a few other exotics.

As far as a pile of crap, well I'm not sure I can agree with that, at least not any longer. Most of the US stuff are "muscle cars" rather than "sports cars" admittedly (because that's what the buying public wants and that's what counts), but the recent models (particularly from GM and Ford) have made great strides in handling and looks in my opinion, but that is always in the eye of the beholder.

In the days leading up to launch, and even for a couple of years afterwards, when I checked the forum at my normal times (first thing in the morning, lunchtime, then once or twice in the evening) I'd have 5 or more pages of new post listings to meander through, and then a page or two of posts in each thread.

For the past six months or so it has slowed down to a page or two of listings at the busiest, and I've dropped back to only checking once or twice a day most days.

probably, I'm just going off of basic factory production stuff.

I do however really like the Ford GT. it's got that old school race car look but still modern. I was talking to a guy because oddly enough was complementing my BRZ on how when he goes to autoX they're always a couple out there kicking the chit out of all the "big boy" cars like Vettes etc. So I asked him why he bought the GT and not something Italian or whatever. he said, "because every other d-bag on my street has one of those and I wanted something faster.". pretty cool guy. you'd never guess by looking at him that he lived where he did and drove the cars he had.

I'll give you the GM trucks. imo, they've made massive improvements on their interiors. I was just in a new Denali and I was thoroughly impressed. that and I forget which Ford suv it was but I do remember it was a "Platinum" and that was killer as well. Friend of mine just bought a new Range Rover Sport and we got that SUV as an uber. poor bastard was kicking himself when he looked up the cost vs the RR. "I could have gotten 2!".

yeah, not many. They've been designed, but very infrequently make it to production.
The Cobra, Viper and GT are pushing more into the supercar category than "sports cars".
There have been a few true sports cars over the decades but none ever sold well even though they were generally pretty good cars.

Does the timing light come with a grease pencil or chalk?

All will go well I am sure.

Have you actually drove either? They are not even close to being as bad as some make them out to be. I actually considered both a few years back but simply could not find one for a price I was happy with.

Isn't the crossfire a Mercedes in disguise?

Yep. Built during the Daimler days and pretty much all Mercedes components beyond the body. I drove a rental one for a week once and it was actually really, really nice. A highly underrated "American" sports car.

I was "this close" to buying a used Saturn Sky Redline before buying the 86. Had it still been in production in 2012, it would have been a hard choice for me.

I liked the lines on the Saturn better than the Solstice. This is similar to the one I was eyeballing.
