@Yoshoobaroo, I looked at SBD turbo kit and Sprintex SC.
They cost around 3k + tune around 800. Header + Full Exhaust + Tune + FD will cost me = 800 + 500 + 800 + 800 = ~3k. But the later one can give me max 30HP and it is all that a can get from it. Please, correct me if I'm wrong ;-) |

Exactly, even without labor it'll be 6K With the auto you can take 800 off for the clutch though. Going FI, by the time the car runs well and it's reliable again most people are almost 10k deep. |

For what it's worth, my JDL UEL cost me $1000 (coated, and including shipping), my OFT cost me $525 (again including shipping), and a replacement panel filter was $32. Your costs will of course be different in € and with much different shipping.
I didn't replace my exhaust past the header because it doesn't seem to help. (Except for producing more noise, which was not a personal goal.) I also didn't replace my intake because all the aftermarket intakes seem to make things worse after tuning. I started with an off-the-shelf tune and tweaked it myself, has taken a solid year of time to get it to where I'm really satisfied with it. But I've been treating it as a hobby project, and figuring out how to tune has been pretty entertaining. The OFT v4.03 off-the-shelf are really quite good. One can get it dialed in with a few repetitions of data gathering and simple parameter adjustment. (See http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94822) And if you are not into tweaking it yourself, there are several tuners who have well-earned good reputations who can help you remotely. Go look over on the Software Tuning forum. |
