No angered response from me. Generally the high HP crowd knows how to mod. The kids with the aluminum wings and unpainted cars are the ones with nothing under the hood and a horribly loud bumble bee exhaust. They just want to make it look like their fast.

Its certainly a refreshing change from a manufacturer- i've been thinking about a 370Z recently to replace my MR2 Turbo... but its such a big boat, 1500kg fueled! Sure its got 320-odd bhp, but wouldnt it be better if it was lighter? I've been looking at all the things you can throw out or change to reduce the weight.. so far i've worked out a 65kg loss for £1650

...but a better performing car for less money, now you're talking Renault already do this with the Clio 200, if you go for the clio 200 cup its lighter with less frills and is also less money.

Come on Toyota, get this car to market so i can buy one!!

The only thing I am worried about with the stripped down version is insurance!

Other than that, if it still has cruise control and A/C I am down. Who needs a sound system? bwahaha

I never understood this.

A lot of people over on the Genesis Coupe boards are also bitching about how the R-Spec got rid of cruise control. WTF? It's supposed to be a stripped down version that you can use as a basis for your track car. How many times are you going to be using cruise control on the track/auto-x/rally, etc?

F*ck cruise control. I've got it on all of my cars and I never use it. I'm down for the track model because of the better suspension, bigger brakes, LSD, and the cheaper price. Everything else is just a bonus. Of course I'll probably replace all that shit when the aftermarket picks up but you know what I'm saying.

I love the idea and can imagine how fun an affordable straight-from-factory performance-oriented car will be, I'm just a bit scared as to how insurance would be with all the teenager drifter-wanabes flipping these cars that their parents bought for them when they powerslide into curbs
