I know the issue (as to why its there) but what Im talking about is the stupidity of it all. If I go and buy a terrain and build a house right next to a oil refinery, and file a complaint that they make too much noise, do you think I'll win? See what im getting at?

Yes because it's California. It offended you, therefore the lawyers will side with you.

However, because of all this, we developed some solutions that actually make the exhaust note sound incredibly good. It could be a win-win for everyone.

May 2015 I ran the event w/ Fujitsubo catted header, OEM front pipe, Fujitsubo catback. Didn't get flagged.

Some catbacks are better than others at sound suppression.

Everybody with a shred of common sense understands the issue, and we all agree. It's absolute nonsense. This is happening in many places across the country as the subdivisions creep in toward the tracks that have been there for decades. Bunch of people whining about how loud it is, and the rest of just sitting there wondering "Well, why in the hell did you move there in the first place?"

Can't help but laugh about this. People can be ridiculous.

I for one have no intention of spending time and money on prep and registration, then driving up there and getting a hotel just to be flagged in the first heat and drive back home.

Fingers crossed for ya buddy, report back if you can with how it went!
So this past saturday was at laguna, was super wet and raining so wasn't pushing it as hard, but was still wide open throttle coming out of turn 5 by the sound check booth and didn't get black flagged for sound.

So i'd say my car can pass w/ the ACE Header 250, hks dual resonated front pipe and the greddy supreme sp catback.

Thanks for reporting back sir! This is reassuring, dangerously so because now I'm inspired to keep my moderate cat back on there!

Sweet Jesus. It's like the perfect storm to get black flagged. Keep it going!

You're probably right. I'm going to change to the Jdl ultra quiet front pipe to help tone it down a bit more.

Interested to see what the ace exhaust set up looks like when it's released

Oh but the ALMS and other series can race there no problem...

Bullshit, I cant understand how you guys simply lean back, drop down your pants for that. You know the only reason they can ask for such shitty regulations is because people still go anyways. Stop going, and they'll get moving to change the rules or "interpret them" differently to allow people to race.

Just for the record, most tracks I go to also have sound checks, but most of the time its a quick inspection just to make sure you arent diong something ridiculous like 120db (cars with only headers dumping straight to the side/up)
Calabogie claims to have a 92db limit from 50 feet (probably similar to the distance at Laguna Seca?), but anytime I've been there they didn't even put my car on the db meter at the stationary inspection. I drove up, the guy asked for a quick rev and he gave me my sticker. Perrin 2.5" catted front pipe and 2.5" resonated cat back, stock header.

I'm still really new with all this stuff, but I was thinking about doing a 92db day at laguna Seca and I was wondering if I'd have trouble having an invidia n1 catback and a jrsc. Thanks in advance!
