Geezus, yet another next gen thread! Lol.
The sideline with the dude thinking he is getting +300HP out of his NA FA20 with just injectors and a tune is hilarious. Look, as much as I’m hoping for the turbo FA24, I’m afraid it is unlikely. Toyota will not allow the 86 to encroach on the Supra. A turbo 86 would eat the 4 banger Supra (B48) for breakfast. Toyota won’t allow that. It wrecks the vertical product stack. They have to leave a performance gap between the Twins and the bottom rung Supra. My bet is on the much rumoured NA FA24. That provides room for a modest bump to power and torque, but not too much. Yes, they might stick with the NA FA20, but what I’ve read suggests that engine is totally maxed out in NA form, already struggling to meet emissions, and Toyobaru will want to provide at least some bump to power and torque to make the mkII more appealing vs mkI. The biggest competitor to the new Twin will be lightly used 2nd hand Twins. Toyobaru know they will cop a PR hiding if they release a mkII with the same power as the mkI, and rightly so. Some progress is expected in 10 years. But then, none of us know. The people who do know, the engineers on the project, aren’t telling. Last edited by Red-86; 02-02-2020 at 06:41 AM. |

I wonder how the FA24 NA responds to a turbo?
Calling AVO.... And how reliable the drivetrain will be. I'm of to Goggle stuff...

no one defined where they were checking numbers from. if payload can make power on this platform so easily where no one else can, 300 at the wheels shouldn't be any issues.

Plus, just need some stickers, apparently.................... Not sure the 86 has the aerodynamics of the Charger though.

Sitting at work, I had to hold my laughter and tears back as I read this thread. There were slim moments where I nearly lost it.

Good afternoon folks. You guys gotta remember one thing. There are 2 fuel injectors per cylinder... Keep in mind this vehicle has 8 fuel injectors through a 4 cylinder set up, so the potential of this d-4s technology to us may not be fully understood on how to take full advantage in relation to performance enhancement, just because you haven't uncovered it or undermined the possibilities, doesn't mean people have not been getting these gains from an N.A FA20 block .. I may not have a dyno but there are others ways for guesstimates .. Besides, I'm not just going on a mindless rant about it because there are tunning guides and other dated online info. that support my argument.... Peace and love

Dont undermine the possibilities. Who would've guessed that 2 injectors per cylinder would bring the total to eight?

Turns out more fuel injectors = more power...wheres the 4-injector aftermarket fuel rails at? 3 injectors per cylinder should be getting us 500whp!
