Hardwire a radar detector

Hello,

I'm looking to hardwire my Uniden R3 and I was wondering what hardwire kit some have you gone with? The ones on Amazon don't have the best reviews.

Any tips/tricks would be much appreciated!

Thanks

I'm confused why a hardwire kit would have poor reviews. It is literally some wires with a connector on the end. Heck, you could even take the cigarette adapter it comes with and chop the end off and wire it in.

In fact, the R3 just uses an RJ11 connector, which is a phone cord. You can use that with an end cut off and tap the wires directly into any 12v source. Total cost as low as $3 (or free when you have old phone cords laying around).
