Looking forward to your pics once fitted

It pains me that you painted them, but I still want to see them on the car.

Finally managed to get the V70A's fitted and balanced. Got it installed by Andrew at K-Mart Tyre & Auto Service, a very nice guy who looked after me heaps. Even had the tyres labelled front/rear for me too!

Here are some pictures

Kumho V700 Weight 225/45/16

Rears of the Ronals were painted white too(original colour was black)
I did all the masking myself

I did the obligatory tyre marking on the side of the tyres. Gotta have a lil bit of rice some where...

Parked @ work

UPDATE: Took a pic today, better quality

Track Day - No Limits 3rd March 2014

Had a track day today, unfortunately my front brake pads were gone 2/3 through the morning long circuit session so I was unable to try and beat my PB for short track.

The new Kumho V700 tyres are very good though. Once heat is into them, they are very grippy. Kinda regretting putting them on the Ronals though since they are +2kgs heavier wheels to what I'm used too. I'll probably be using these as autocross/skidpan combo though. and switch the PS3's on my WedsSports to a full racing slick - probably Kumho S700 to use on the track.

Some pictures, more here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1057759...7641793186265/

Results - LONG Track.
Came within 0.12 secs of my PB without really pushing the limits of the tyres or getting that confident with the track. So a bit happy about that.

Results - SHORT Track. I had left by this point in time, hence DNS.

Steve,

Did you install these yet? I have same tranny mount not yet installed. Considering the STI Motor mounts to same all as you show. My question is if you noticed "any" increase in nvh with the motor mounts at idle or in general? I suspect the tranny mount would not but... Anyhow what say you? I know you've been through a few mounting solutions and like me have an ear and feel for oddities so I'm curious on this.

I am not Steve but I have installed both and my experience is -

STI engine mounts: General increase in background/firewall noise. Not offensive or really that noticeable. Someone who was not paying attention or had not driven the car beforehand would struggle to tell a difference but it would add quite a few db of nvh.

STI transmission mount: Very loud in comparison to whiteline/cusco inserts, when combined with aftermarket heavy duty single plate clutch. I assume that the nvh was tuned by STI against oem clutch (sprung full face organic disc) with no other inserts or mods, as I was unable to eradicate the nvh with the STI engine mounts, STI trans mount and any combination of other bushings. Removing the whiteline KDT922 subframe inserts helped somewhat, but there was still a dramatic rollover / decel vibration coming up the shifter around 3k rpm. Installing a new oem shifter assembly did not help (my car was an early build and Subaru did it for me under warranty). I gave up on the STI trans mount and run either the stock one with no insert, or with the whiteline insert for track days.

Heya, nah I haven't yet

The exhaust shop I went to to get my headers installed is on holidays, but he's back this week. But my car is in another workshop getting the Toyota(which CUSCO rebrands) 4.556:1 close ratio installed.

I will give the exhaust shop a call tomorrow and get that organised. While the engine mounts are swapped, I'm going to get the HKS headers and MOTIV overpipe all heatwrapped in DEI Titanium.

After that is done, I will be jacking up the car and heatwrapping the MOTIV frontpipe too(so the WHOLE exhaust is heat wrapped). I will also be installing just the bare STi Group-N transmission mount.

I was going to use the tranny mount in conjunction with that CUSCO washer, but I would like to see how it goes by itself. I've got a gut feeling that this new mount will be a whole lot quieter than my current setup(Perrin T mount & CUSCO washer). Right now, the interior sounds vaguely like I have a dog box.
