reliable mechanics for frs/brz in Long Beach
Hi:
Does anyone recommend shops in Long Beach or vicinity for maintenance/oil changes? Went to the dealership & they were basically $150.00 for a visit. You know it would have been more out the door. Thanks, Michael |

I go to west coast Toyota in Long Beach for my oil changes ( because of warranty reasons) They charge me $50-60 for OEM oil and filter .

I get synthetic oil change from South bay toyota for 39.99 and for other mechanical work, i go to Fuzion Teknique in Gardena. Alex from Fuzion is very nice guy. Toyota dealer is within 1 mile from Fuzion so when i took the car to fuzion and found broken lug nut, i just walked over and bought new part and brought it back. Very convenient.

for just oil changes, they are super easy on this car to do. I do mine for less than $30. If you plan on keeping the car long term, might be worth learning to do it yourself just to save cash and time.
You should only have to take it in for the 60k service as that is a little more than just an oil change. Then again at 120k. Other than that, swap out the oil & filter every 4-5k and you will be golden. Other than that, I would take the car to Longo Toyota for anything I can't handle myself. I got the JO2 recall there and they seem to do good work. If any of you guys are around the OC on the weekend I may be around to give you a hand and show you how to knock out an oil change no problem on the cheap. for the oil: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-A...-5-qt/17034369 For the oil filter: https://subaruonlineparts.com/index.php |
