Springs VS Coilovers

Okay, if i strictly usin my car as a DD, no tracking and purely asthetics and comfort would springs be sufficent?

I am comtemplating springs, but all my friends that have experience with modinf their cars are sworn to never ever buy springs again, because they fucked up their car using springs. " bro, no matter what you do never get springs, biggest regret"

It wasnt just one of my friend it was multiple, however i still see many people around locally with springs.

What are your experienced with springs and coilovers, and do you agree not to ever get springs if u can afford coilovers?

It took me a while to decide but I realized that I didn't want throw down $800 or more on coils at this time. I am getting my sportlines installed on stock shock Monday afternoon. I have a friend who has been on sportline+stock shock for about a year on his DD and has had no problems whatsoever. He is also on 18x8.75 XXR 527's and the fitment is decently flush. I think you will be happy. What springs are you considering?

Your friends bought crappy springs.

In reality it depends on what you're looking for. If you really want a big drop ( more than an inch) then IMO springs arent the best choice. There just isn't enough travel for that and a good ride.

But if you're happy with a more mild/medium drop of an inch or less, than you can get a good look without ruining ride and handling. There are a couple good springs out there for this chassis.

I swapped springs on my 1988 Ranger, drove it for 100k miles. Swapped springs on the BRZ, and daily drive it too. No worries.

This one of the few platforms were springs do work well as long as you keep the drop moderate.

I installed eibach sportlines. ...1.4 inch drop...within a week...noises from the rear. Pretty sure i blew both rear oem Shocks. Think it was too much of a drop. Now saving for coilovers

installation-error most likely, such as spinning the shafts. I did the same for one of my rears, replaced it. been on sportlines for over a year now, no issues.
