I don't think anyone would be surprised a civic is slow. 99.9% of the population sees them as economy box people movers.

Look fast, but really aren't? Don't agree.

Are not as fast as they look? Maybe, but only b/c it looks like it's going 200mph standing still. I don't mind this.

Fact is, it's plenty fast and it'll do what the "real fast" cars can't do.
Go around corners.
Really fast.

My wife has a Mini. The auto box is crap if you aren't banging the shifts manually, but it's quite tossable. I'd say a manual Mini would have a decent shot at your lunch money in a stock FRS.

I also don`t see it as hating. They aren`t fast. They are fun and agile yes, but when a stock mini-van full of kids with hockey equipement an watching movies on the on board DVD player can win your pink slip, it`s not a fast car. And I don`t regret for a second buying it

As for the segment comments. They aren`t talking about the 6 against that list, they are talking about the 6 in the mid-size family sedan. They are compared to Altimas, and Camrys. Not the FRS, or Civics or Imprezas. It doesn`t look to me like MSN lost their mind.

I just see it as Merica supporting Merican products because they are losing so much market share here in North America. If you take the rednecks of Merica out of the mix, I don't think anybody WANTS to drive Merican automobiles.

Some people just prefer a horribly inefficient V8 to a properly tuned flat 4. Why? 'cause Merica!

I'd be willing to bet that in an autocross between all those sedans , the Mazda6 would win. Assuming the same competent driver of course.

That Zoom-Zoom ain't no joke, haha!

There is much more to being fast than just acceleration times... unfortunately Average Joe Public is not sophisticated enough to understand this. 95% of drivers on the road do not have the skill set or even the understanding of how to appreciate a car that doesn't rely on a v8 for speed.
