When I mentioned the purchase to my boss, first, he came up with a funny idea. Owing to the fact that the amount spent was insane, but also merely another useless thing like many of the other useless things we both buy, we shall heretofore use this as a standard unit of measurement.

"how much did that turbo cost?"
"about one lightsaber."

"How much was your BRZ?"
"about twenty-three lightsabers."

Then he told me there was a guy at work who was looking for people who want to to "hit each other with sticks and stuff, with armor on and all that." That sounds dangerously close to LARPing. I'm still at the delusional stage where I tell myself I will be practicing a martial art with a fun twist, but I think it's sort of like saying you're not gay because you're pitching not receiving.

He may be referring to the SCA(Society for Creative Anachronism) where people roleplay the early middle ages(historical not fantasy) and beat the fuck it of each other with sticks in a "melee combat duel or skirmish" where getting hit solidly in the head(helmet) or body means you're "dead". It's like medieval paintball. Pretty fun. There are regulations on armor and whatnot for safety. Takes SKILLS or you get your ass beat pretty quick. I highly recommend attending a practice session just to check it out if not get involved

Happy happy, first box is here! These are the cheaper ones with no sound, but they are still cool as hell. I dig them much. The bottom one is mine, the next one up is the one I picked up for the wife, the two on top are a set for me.

How's the light work? Do you do the sound effects when you move it around?

I do have it all, I picked up my newly ceramic coated compressor housing for my GT-R's turbo the same day.

No sound, just light, a basic LED. It's not insanely bright like the brand-name expensive LEDs, but the wife and I went out in the park last night and they light up good enough. I'm thinking about upgrading them with sound. Swinging them around without the noise is weirder than I thought.
