As much as I anticipate the availability of a turbo, I'm really looking forard more to seeing cosworth doing the nasty on this motor and executing a sick NA build with parts and or a complete kit subsequently available for sale of course.

+1

What if to contact them. They did such a good job for the Cosworth Impreza WRX STI CS400. I wish they do the same but following the philosophy of the BRZ, this means staying NA.

A carbon fiber roof as in the Impreza WRX STI Spec C would be epic.

Dont read to much into this. WOT Motortrend, reports have been deteriorating over time. Edward Loh hasn't spoken on the FT-86 since the early days of rumorville. "Subaru" hasn't confirmed anything, officially.

I want to believe, but I can't allow myself to. I just doubt a Subaru exec would confirm it with motortrend and NO ONE else.

Really, is Ed Loh's information credible? The pricing information seems to be so tightly protected across the world. Why on earth, would Subaru share such information just with him? But at the same time, why would he risk his reputation by twittering exact numbers to the world? I do not understand.

I think he slipped and gave it away on a publicity stunt, I took the pricing twittering with a large batch of salt. Until I see the numbers on the official website or the actual price sticker on a BRZ it self. I say just keep with the speculation and wait till we see the cars out in April or june.

I'm afraid that you are right. The best case scenario is right inbetween his number and the price estimated by edumunds (24,600 or so). That would be without a nav (not that I need one). I am surprised that even a base Scion version will not be available under 20,000.

curious as to what you mean by this?

because i know you don't mean you need a turbo to race because thats just silly. maybe you mean you need more power to contend which is also silly. the original 86 had what 87hp and look where it went.

plus everyone knows all you need to do to be a race car is have a giant spoiler.

Difficult? Yes. Impossible? No. If they wanted to, they could. Reminds me of how Aston Martin was able to squeeze a v12 in the vantage, a car that was already packed enough as it was with a v8. Even a small bulge in the hood can give them a little extra space, like the 2nd gen eclipse.

Does Subaru have the rights to use Toyota's direct/port injection in other vehicles, or to use FI with it in the BRZ?

Sort-of maybe? The relationship is a bit interesting since Toyota owns ~16% of FHI.

I wonder if a blown version would drive up the insurance cost even for a base version, due to guilt by proxy. I'm serious.
