The quick answer is they don't unless there are extenuating circumstances or multiple offenses pretty much like everywhere else.

Now, that said I'm sure everyone else from Georgia will attempt to prove me wrong, but I'm not going to debate it.

This I believe. So a 6 month term for a burn out isn't exactly "normal".

Also the radar picks up the bigger and faster vehicle which was the Charger. Therefore my lawyer can bring all of this up to the prosecutor and judge. And I should walk away with a speeding ticket. Don’t kill my vibe man. Positive thinking goes a long way.

I got a pulled over and ticketed once for "speeding." Officer asked me how fast I was going and I said I was just going with traffic. I asked him what his RADAR said. He said 85! I said not even close! I knew he may have had a speed but it wasn't mine for sure. I sent my lawyer. Everything was dropped. Lawyer cost more than the ticket would have but it was the principal of the matter. He should have went after the SUV in front of me instead of pulling over the shiny sports car.

to prison for a parking tickets happens.

I got a whole ass 5 year old here that I’d like to see one day. I’m not leaving. I’ve been paying child support for too long.

Radars don’t do separate readings.

Speed Radar most certainly does pick out individual vehicles. It is a focused beam with a 5 to 10 degree spread. It isn’t a wide broadcast beam like aircraft control or military tracking use. Either you were so close to the Charger it blocked you with it bulk or you were far enough back that you were picked up individually. If that close you were doing about the same speed he was if far enough back then that was your reading.

11 degrees. If the guy is 50ft away on a hill looking down that’s a broad area. And then there’s me a charger and like 8 cars right behind the charger because the charger actually cut off the lead car in the slow lane. In that case it will only pick up the fastest and biggest vehicle.

Eight cars behind the charger were doing 92MPH all of a sudden? You were only doing 70 or so in the passing lane? How is this possible?

I don't think that's quite he meant. Actually my ticket was a similar where there was a big group of cars he tagged someone else (or nobody) and pulled me over instead. Luckily in CT (at least the state cars) take a picture of the plate with the speed so either he had someone else or nothing at all. Back then I didn't have the detector in but he called out a number that didn't match so I knew he didn't really have me. It happens more often than you think. Many times people just pay the ticket so they will bluff and if you are dumb enough to admit you were over than you end up paying when you weren't caught legitimately. Maybe you deserve it maybe not... That's another good reason to have a radar detector so that you know when you are caught or not and how fast you were going when you passed the beam. If you are speeding the radar detector might get you a ticket instead of a warning, but if they are bluffing and pulled you over sometimes the radar detector will get you a warning because they know you know they are full of... if they have you legit they will show you a picture of your car's license plate with the speed on it and hand you a ticket. They won't bother asking questions if they know the answers already. If they have to ask they are probably fishing. Now the towny with the old X band gun... as long as the time is within a few minutes of when he stops you then it's his word against yours and the court tends to side with the police.

They can’t take a picture of my license plate it’s on the back of my car and he was on the opposite side of the highway when he turned his lights on. He was to my 11oclock. Literally straight ahead to my left. And as soon as he came over the hill and as soon as the Charger went around me he flipped on his lights. It literally happened in seconds just like that. But yeah Georgia doesn’t have front facing license plates.

Detectors are not legal here. If you speed you take your chances. I speed every single day and if I get caught I will just suck it up like a big boy since I know I was speeding. I won't blame everybody else or try to find some deceitful way around it when I know I was in the wrong.
