I made a heart shaped wooden box with the engagement ring in it (a simple "knot" band) the week before I was going to propose.

I came home to our apartment at the time she was on the computer; she just got home from a bad day at work; our cat just peed in our bed...So I got down on one knee in our apartment living room and asked, "Will you marry me?"

She laughed uncontrollably at first, and I was like, uh...so yes? "Of course!" She said. Like there wasn't any question.

I popped the question right as the ball was beginning to drop one New Year's Eve. This took place in the same home (home belonged to a close friend of mine) where we had first met years earlier...how's that for remembering details?

Damn, that was my plan. But sadly I don't know anyone with access to Club 33. I would like to do it at the new one in California Adventure as it would be one of the first proposals there.

my gf nearly shit a brick when i rang the door bell for club 33. i really wanna try that new place too. And to tie in the car aspect of this forum, we were off that weekend for TORC in long beach

Ultimately my engagement didn't work out, but my b/f at the time wrote "will you marry me" on the beach on St. John before I woke up, then walked me out there a few minutes later. Our plan was to get married there.

By the way, that picture is wonderful!
