I think you are going to be disappointed, very rarely do concept designs make it to production without being toned down or modified for "real world" driving... even the LF-A was significantly tweaked before going into production. Will the FR-S lose some buyers because of the final design? Yes, but the numbers will be far less than the additional buyers it will gain.

I'm a Scion owner. I don't mind people knowing I drive a Scion and I will not be changing the Scion badges on the FR-S for Toyota... but I wouldn't be caught dead driving a car with a light up Scion logo!

Yep that's true. But, I wonder why someone wouldn't want to make, what would be a concept, into a real mass production. I mean yeah, in the FT-86 concept, dumb down the headlight housings, but maintain shape, make the divisions between sheet metal and bumpers, add door handles, etc.

Don't get me wrong: the FR-S concept is a beautiful car, but it would be $50k+ had gone into production as-is because of the design complexities.

The production FR-S looks awesome...probably one of the cleanest best designs out there. I can't wait to drive it.

Safety, aero, cost, etc. Concepts have to be flashy, they don't have to be usable designs. They are done by designers and the engineers have the job of trying to stay as close as possible while making the car actually work the way it's supposed to/required to.

For the same reason that clothes don't look like runway designs. There's a difference between an artistic concept and a production version.

If you watch the behind the scenes video of the creation of the FR-S concept you can see that it's just a fiberglass shell. It's not created like a production car, getting the same shapes as the concept out of sheet metal would definitely raise the cost of manufacture.
