18x9.5 +45 rubs on my front spring perches. Help me please.

So I read on the forums that 18x9.5 +45 fits on our cars without spacers. I put the wheels on tonight and to my dismay found that the tires are right up against the spring perch. I'm using 255/35/18 tires on these rims.

I'm gonna guess that everyone that got them to fit is using coilovers vs stock struts? Is there any detail that I'm missing here? Thanks everyone for any help you can provide.

Are you on stock struts?

Stock struts already have a hard enough time fitting 18x9.5 at +38 offset... Idk where you heard 18x9.5 +45 fits comfortable on stock struts but for next time, use the wheel calculator at https://www.ft86motorsports.com/wheelitfit/

This is your setup currently at stock height and nothing else added (given your notes in your post). If you're running camber bolts or anything else, it may affect your fitment but idk so I"m using base numbers as a guideline.

Clearly it has 12mm clearance issues.

The other thing you can do is get 15mm spacers to clear the perch. The 15mm will make your wheels technically +30 offset in this case. To dial in the poke you'll have at +30 offset, I then recommend camber bolts to about -2 degrees to tuck in the wheel. In theory it should clear with these add-ons.

If this all seems too complicated... Just get a set of coilovers and you won't have to worry about a +45 fitment on a 9.5 wheel. Hope this helps!

17x9 +45 does not fit. So yea, you will have fitment issues. +15 stud spacer until you get coils?

Are there any coil overs that would not work for my wheels? Are all coil overs roughly the same diameter?

18X9.5 +38 Fits with a 235/40/18 on stock suspensions.

18x9.5 +35 fits with a 245/35/18 on stock suspensions.

Get extended studs, 10mm to 15mm spacers, and camber bolts minimum.

Edit: yeah with a 255/35/18 already... you will want coils.

18x9.5 +38 with 245/35/18 fits on stock suspension too, full lock to lock no rub. I know because I had it for two weeks while waiting for my coils

Thanks! I know, but not all 245/35's are the same width. And with a +38 offset, which is very close, not all 245/35s fit on stock suspension.

40 is a bit tall. You may want to run that through a calculator. The coilovers should be fine. I myself went with ST coils.

I had 255 35 R18s on my 18X9.5 (MP4S), you definitely need coils to run 255s or you will rub. You need like 235s to be on the safe side to not rub on stock suspension on the fronts. You will also need to dial in some negative camber, at least -2 degrees or you'll get some poke. That +45 is not helping you either.

Please let us know where you heard that a 9.5" wheel with a +40 offset would fit so we can correct them. I had light rubbing on +35 8.5" wheels with stock struts.

Your only option is to either gets coilovers, or get some serious bolt on spacers. Since you'll be spending the money anyone, I'd just get some coilovers to avoid the issue altogether.
