sti control arm on brz?

so, I plan on installing the PERRIN PSRS kit, but do not want to try and press out the bushings on my OEM control arm as I may revert the car back to stock, etc... One idea i had was to purchase a used STI control arm, which if i remember correctly is the same design as our arm, just installed reverse. I remember from my NASIOC days the weight saving from the stamped piece (which is on our cars) to the aluminum piece was not much, but the aluminum arm is much stiffer.

has anyone done this before?

photo of STI GR arm for reference:

We haven't installed STI front control arms in the BRZ before, so we're not sure how they'll fit, they might be compatible. Has anyone else tried it? That would be a nice upgrade!

I'm also not sure if the arm would physically bolt on to the FR-S/BRZ mounting points. I do know that the ball joint from the STi is NOT compatible with the FR-S/BRZ.

i think any GR would work? I dunno for sure but I`ve heard that the BRZ arm is just a WRX (GR) arm installed rotated.

I know this is old, but was it clarified as to why? Is it a non starter or something that could be easily(relatively) overcome.

Ball joints are different, that would be the main issue assuming the inner mounts line up. On the other subarus the ball joint sits in the upright, not the control arm. So there is a smaller conical seat that would not be compatible with the brz upright and ball joint.

And then spacing between the inner mounts is probably not the same anyway, and who knows what it would do to caster if they did actually line up. Probably would place the wheel too far back in the wheel well.

Cusco also makes arms that look pretty cool.
