Vortech Fluid Change

Has anyone have experience changing the fluids on their vortech supercharger? If so, how did you go about it? A step by step guide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey man it's a simple process. Vortech did a good job on making it easy.

1. First have the car off

2. Put a drain pan under the car

3. Take the metal line that is a part of the supercharger and loosen the tip / fitting with two wrenches. You can unscrew the very top part off. I believe it's a 13 and a 14mm that you need to loosen the top. I could be wrong.

4. Point the drain line down to the drain pan and let then fluid drain out completely.

5. Once drained, put the fitting back into the tip or end of the silver metal line you just pointed down to drain the fluids and tighten it

6. Up top on the supercharger, remove the two brass fittings. Both are up top and require a 3/16 Allen wrench. **DO NOT** lose the gaskets that are on the brass fitting up top and the dipstick

7. Take a bottle of the vortech supplied fluid and squeeze it into the hole that was not where the dipstick was. Use half the bottle or so and put the dipstick in , thread it down , pull it back out and check where the fluid is on the hash marks on the dipstick. Add some if you need to if it's short. If you overfilled just open the tip of the line like the previous step and drain some out.

8. After the fluid process is done , put the dipstick back in as well as the other brass fitting up top and tighten them down. ***CAUTION*** DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE BRASS FITTINGS. If you do and you strip the fittings it's seriously a bitch to take those off. Trust me lol.

9. Zip tie your metal line that you drained the vortech oil from to the fan shroud on the passenger side so it stays in place and doesn't flop around.

10. Give the car a start let her run for a bit, turn her off and check the fluid again and see where you're at.

Done and done! Hope this helps!

Loosen the dipstick
Remove cap from drain line
Empty contents into cup
replace cap
Fill with V3 SC oil (SLOWLY) checking the dipstick every so often
Check dipstick by threading it in until it seats, then remove
Fluid level should be in the middle of the hashmarks

Its like changing oil in a car, but easier and less mess.

One bottle is plenty, it only takes me 3/4 of the bottle to fill it up.
Don't overfill

I have my drain ziptied for access from underhood, I use my oil extractor (vacuum pump) to just suck the oil out of the drain line end after I do engine oil changes so that is also an option. Sucks the little bit of fluid out quick
