Be Safe!

My worst nightmare has come true. Last night I was rear ended by a Jeep and smashed into a Nissan Rogue. I was stopped behind the Nissan in front of me in traffic, and I guess the lady driving the jeep wasn't paying attention and pushed my car into the one in front of me. Tons of front bumper damage, including bubbled-up hood, and a caved in plastic smile. Rear end damage was minimal, but still apparent nonetheless. Luckily, my girlfriend and I were not harmed and neither of the other drivers were (though I'd be surprised considering the size of their cars vs. the BRZ). I'll post some pics later tonight. I filed a claim through USAA last night and hopefully I'll be getting a few calls from the adjuster and the collision shop today. Anyway, drive safe everyone! I sincerely hope none of you have to experience this!

Good, no ones hurt, get a doctor to give you a clean bill of health on the insurance's dime too.

Sorry to hear that happened to you man, getting rear ended is the worst. My brother was in a pickup that got rear ended and totaled. He still has back pain from the accident 12 years on.

^^^This. I was in perfect health before I was rear-ended (car totaled) more than a decade ago...I still have back/neck pain from it. Get checked out fully before you sign any waiver or settlement documents.

dude i'm sorry to hear this. i was rear ended by a drunk driver in april in my STI, i was stopped he hit me at 60+. after being depressed and without a car you realize ITS JUST A CAR.

you're okay and walked away. my advice is go get checked out. my back started acting up and i thought it was just temporary, turns out i had 4 herneated disks. also if you have ANY issues, lawyer up ASAP.

also, pick your body shop carefully, dont ever listen to insurance and MAKE SURE they use OEM parts. most shops use oem "replacement" parts that are cheaper and just dont have hte same fitment and quality. also if you're not happy after it' fixed. bring it back. i did that with my sti. never settle, the car is new and there is no reason for it to not be perfect.

once again sorry it happend, but you walked away, cheers to that.

Also this ^^ I was in a similar situation where I was rear ended at a stop light by a woman going 50+ mph, she didn't see the red. Pushed us forward into 3 more cars in front of me and would have hit another 2 or 3 if they'd been there. I was fine as far as back/neck injuries but had a wrist tendon injury that still bothers me on occasion 5 years later (I was 20 at the time of the accident)

Don't sign anything until you feel 100% better, and make sure anything you do sign allows for followup appointments for at least a year afterwards. Any papers they present to you, show it to either your insurance agent (good) or a lawyer (better) before signing.

Check out "Kahtec smart delay" module for brake lights. It rapidly blinks your third brake light to get their attention, ambulances use similar systems.

Its supposed to help prevent getting rear ended by inattentive drivers,( which most traffic accidents are rear-enders). It's about $30, and easy to install.

I have this on my BRZ and I have get around to installing it on the Forester.

Damn that sucks, sorry to hear it.

Sounds like you really got it from that rouge though, were you just sitting in neutral when the jeep raped you?
