If you want a highway commuting car, 25K can get you a real clean Lexus LS 430!

This is true, you can't get a new LS 430...last year they made it was 2006.

Yep. I started looking into rx8's after driving my friends - if I can get a decent deal on one in good condition it might be fun for a year or two - then I can pick up a cheap FR-S

Ah the decisions in life... Haha.

If you're serious, consider joining http://www.rx8club.com and/or reading through http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=202454 first.

The RX-8 is an amazing car to drive for some people, but it's not a car to buy without educating yourself on the risks...

Before I bought my FR-S I was looking at a used RX-8. Drove it and had a blast. But then I started reading the required maintenance, the quirks of the car, plus the questionable reliability of the rotary engine(Mazda extended power-train warranties out past the standard amount)

A clean used RX-8 will be at least 5-7K cheaper or more then a FR-S/BRZ, but then again its not a BRZ or FR-S
