If the emblem comes off could we not have someone make a plate to replace it with a GT86 Emblem? Seems like something even someone with a little 3d printer could make. It all depends if the emblem can be pried off the bag. Since all those pictures are not there anymore I can't tell if it does.

Because a plastic plate launched out of an airbag at your face might kill you.

You can pry it off and could realistically pull off that plate idea. If you don't mind that plate getting flung at your face in the event of airbag deployment.

Wouldn't mind a vinyl print flying at me though? Maybe one with a rubber coating for nicer feel? Have no idea how to make get one, just an idea.

If secured properly how would this differ from the plastic logo on the stock airbag?

The stock one has pin-like things sticking out of the back of the emblem that goes through the airbag cover and is secured from the other side.

IF secured properly and that's a big IF. Don't know what method you would use though.

I would guess that an epoxy would be as strong as the pins. Unless that part is deigned to split apart when the airbag deploys I don't think it would be an issue. Anyone got pics of a crashed FRS with exploded airbag?

What if it was made out or NERF, NERF never hurt nobody.

Ask the guy who totaled the first one. There's a thread on that.

NERF...if only everything was made of that. Lmao!

When I ripped it out of my airbag, it was pretty flimsy. I can't imagine it hurting too much. But either way you're getting punched in the face..... lol

So someone just needs to make a Toyota or GT86 with the same tabs for a swap. $800 and having to swap out the bomb for the JDM one is a bit pricey if you ask me.

I wouldn't recommend a tabbed version. It just wouldn't work. It doesn't fit in there easily and it would take an immense amount of work to force all ~10 tabs to go in the holes. You're better off using adhesive to hold it down. The original had adhesive and tabs.
