i just got winjet fogs but now im lost
So i bought some winjet fogs and i am unable to find a detailed enough tutorial online to install them. Like im a complete nub when it comes to electrical stuff. Anyone installed these for the first time? How did you do it? I dont want to short circuit my car and fry off my finger nails. For the start, i cant even get the green wire to go into the fog light button. Much thanks.
After much much MUUUCH research, i came to the conclusion that winjet is what you pay for. I was able to get them for about 70$ tax included. Pretty good deal, but while installing them i had so much issues with wire fitment. Example, the wire that connects to the switch to the power needs to be cut up because the one they give to you does not fit in anything. Second, getting the fogs to screw in is whats lagging me right now. They come with clips that obviously do not fit. Alot of people have these but there isn't a specific diy online. My friend and i were saying how the only good thing is the shiny bezel... Last edited by Vincenttam; 05-20-2014 at 08:02 AM. |

So I only got the winjet fog light button, but what I got was perfect, I cut the ends and crimped my own connectors, but that's because im doing a custom install.
I got the OEM lights and bezels, and even those I had to force mounting bolts into place by bending the bumper a little whilst screwing in. Sorry to hear your having trouble.

I installed them and i assure you all the parts work fine.. Youtube has some videos that help somewhat. The wire going to the button was 100% plug it in and it works i don't understand how you are having issues with it? You will however need a wire tap to tap into the purple wire (accessory power wire) behind the wheel to scroll up and down the brightness in the cabin lights.

ran into both issues installing these into my buddys FRS. the best thing to do is to take a trip to your local hardware store and either pick up a bolt that fits those tabs perfectly or pick up 4 nuts and bolts.
we worked with what we had in his garage so we decided to opt out of those tabs and screws and use the nuts and bolts we had laying around. as long as you can no plan to change them back to stock, you'll never have to pull the plastic bezel off to get to the nut. in terms of the wire with the brown plug, you'll be cutting that plug off and attaching it to the purple wire in the harness under the dash. I would of course recommend soldering it but because we didn't have access to a soldering gun, we decided to t-tap it. i normally don't recommend t-taps but because its just sending a signal to the relay (power source is the battery), i saw no harm in it. lights are still going strong. gl to you! |

I have the t-tap splice connector.. so the red wire with a brown plug need to tap to that purple wire connecting the dash board dimmer. My question is which one is the on all the way and which is on half way? the purple clamp on all the way hole? and half through the red of fog light wire (positive)? then the black ground on one of screws right? then it will come on whenever your park light/side marker are ON and you can ON/OFF with the switch whenever you wanted right? thanks for any input.. I'm about to install it and I don't wanna make mistake on tapping the wire. Thanks!

Just finished installing the winjet clear fog kit and cannot for the life of me get the bezzels to click into place. The oem panels pop in and out with ease and these plastic bezzels wont stay in. Anyone have a way to make them fit or know if you ll be able to buy new bezzels that fit with the winjet? The gloss black is ugly as hell anyway. 2013 fr-s
