What was harder than it looked was removing the USDM side markers... yeah, releasing that clip is NOT easy, even when doing exactly as directed.

I was able to score Subaru JDM clear side markers (not helix side markers, but the true blue JDM ones) for $55. Local parts store was having a clearance and said "any reasonable offer." I said "$55 for the side markers sound reasonable?" And they came back with "sure."

Now to order some LED sidemarker bulbs...

Anyway, what's the deal with "legal" colors? Should I just go on and get the amber LED bulbs, or get the white LEDs to match the headlights?
My Helix side markers came with amber LEDs, so I was stuck with those. I think it looks good just cus that's what's "supposed" to be there.

As for the clips, I gave up on em. I just pulled the marker straight out with brute force, which makes an alarmingly loud "SNAP". Probably can't do that too many times, though

Edit: After looking at what few pics I could find, white LED side markers look mad clean if you're going for the full LED look

The question is legality and do cops really care?

Probably less risky than dark window tint, imo

I ordered mine directly from Rally Armor, the car hasn't driven more than 20km so far and was taped good, as well as dry and rock free roads here when I moved it so I should be ok.

I had a police officer comment on how cool my car looked with white side markers, never made any mention of them being illegal. Now in your neck of the woods...

Drove in the snow, on summer tires, in ATLANTA!
(It was that or sleep at work.)

While I spent a decade driving in the northern winters, my BRZ is a southern boy that lost his snow-virginity tonight.

The gentle hills of the Atlanta northern suburbs were covered with up to 3" of snow!
No snow removal or salt/sand for the suburbs this quick after a storm; that's probably 24 hours or more away. Only about 15% of drivers seem to know how to drive on snow. They were stopping on hills for red lights/stop signs with clearly no cross traffic. Cars were everywhere!

But with a flat starting point and all the idiots in ditches or out of gas; I was able to slowly make my way up hills and around corners. I averaged about 10 miles an hour, in first gear, when I was moving. The 6 mile trip took 1 hour, with an addition hour spent pushing cars the f*ck out of my way. lol

a list of things I was taught as a child that belong in a winter trunk:
Hat
Gloves
change of cloths
kitty litter/sand
extra socks
sleeping bag/blanket
plastic bags for waterproofing hands/feet (bonus for Wonder Bread bags!)
flares (all seasons)
candle/matches/empty soda can (for drinking water)
snacks
ice scrapper
jumper cables (all seasons)
