The K&N actually looks like it has the best overall curve out of these 3, the others have the quick torque hit after the dip but at 5K the K&N looks to make slightly more torque and it makes more peak HP. But all within the margin of error so it's hard to really pick any kind of "winner" |

I was a bit surprised myself by the K&N, and to be honest all 4 of us there that day expected 0 gains across the board. So the results to us were interesting as well. |

Here is some food for thought, as well. Do you think other tuners would have you buy a $60 drop-in filter or a $350 intake system?? (rhetorical, not looking for a discussion here) These are just independent tests that we hope to benefit the community.

Also, to add to that, this is PEAK hp. The point in which maximum hp was reached, which is high in the rpm range where the engine is needing the most air. Not a 5hp increase across the powerband.

If you go ahead and read the thread about the tuners that ran without filter for no gain, you would find that one of them, found there was gain with a drop in filter even though there was no gain without a filter.

Sometimes it's better to have some restriction to increase the speed of flow. It's like if you pinch the tip of a water hose the water flows faster.
