I make 3 hanging out here.

Even with almost everything in the STI catalog, the tS presents some unique value props for me.

Just forget about a turbo and AWD in this car. If they did it would be 40K and no one would buy, as there is a lot of competition in that price range.

This car is cheap and fun. Only reason it sells. You want more performance there is plenty of after market.

Need a turbo and AWD? Subaru might have a few choices for you.

The price 32k to 35k is lower than JDM tS. It was almost 4milion yen(around $ 40k). The price will really depend on currency.

Here in Ontario Canada the 2017 BRZ Inazuma Edition(Series Yellow) had an MSRP of $32,695.
Plus, Freight $1,650, Air Tax $100, Admin fee $495 OMVIC/Enviro fee $10, Tire fee $17.75
Equals $34,967.75 before GST (13% here in Ontario).
I’m betting the 2018 tS will be no more than a grand more if the exchange rate stays the same.

Pricing announcements and sold orders will likely come in October.

Has there been any word yet on whether the tS will make it to Canada? Or the PP option for MY 2018?

Not sure about the PP option but...
Yes, both the WRX STI Type RA and BRZ tS will be available in Canada for 2018.

If only you could substitute the base model's spoiler for that wing.... or be 18 again.

that's the problem though, we have no idea what the car will really include. If it includes all the STI goodies like on the 2013 tS from Japan it will be worth it. If it just includes a couple of things we can already buy, but no difference in chassis, then not so much.

I mean, if you want one that bad, you can always buy a BRZ PP and then go online and buy the STI parts...

That's all it really is.

Subaru said in the very beginning they would not fit the car with AWD because it would require raising the engine and the package wouldn't fit properly in the chassis.

They (along with Toyota) also said they had no intention on adding a turbo to the car.

Be an expensive way to go though.

All those STi/Ts badges alone would cost you a fortune.

You can do this if you want to build a better car than the tS. Why wait? You can start already!

Some people here are forgetting to qualify their statements. Yes, anything is possible IF, you have the cash!

However, many do no and will have to finance their purchases. In my case, I wished to keep adding to my RRSP funds not remove $40 grand worth. So borrowing at 0.9% was going to be a much better choice.

(Long story short, I owned an Inazuma for about three days but never took delivery. I had to back out because my employer of 34 years downsized me right out the door. Yep, sux to be me)
