Love the build, and makes me rethink how I want to build the FRS.

Was just really curious, i noticed that you have the push button start but the standard non DRL headlights when you got the car. Is that standard in Canada because we dont get the push start unless we got the special editions in US?

I retro fitted the push button start to work like the Honda S-2000. Turn key to acc, clutch down and press start. The button is oem from a subaru and also lights up.

Thought about getting an advanced keys system but honestly i like having a key.

Lighting is so huge with the 86 platform in my opinion. Winjet with Toms or Valentis is such a winning combo!

Tofino Drive with a 2017 BRZ and my FR-S with new diffuser

A bit of a late post, at the end of summer to unwind we decided to take a drive with my bro's (longtime friend) new 2017 BRZ to Tofino. I decided to treat myself to a rear diffuser as well for the trip and the 4th brakelight.

We ended up what we thought was a great spot on the ferry but due to high winds ended up being the worst spot. Our cars were covered in SALT by the time we got to Nanaimo. The first thing we did after the ferry ride was to search for a car wash.

Pic of new rear diffuser

The rear diffuser was a bit difficult to put on without jacking the car up but eventually it all worked out. One of the bolts actually fell inside and I needed a really strong magnet to guide it out.

DTC Motorsports steering wheel

I guess with all the cool updates in the 2017 BRZ models it made me want to jazz up mine. I intended to purchase a UEL header and final drive as I posted earlier, but after the drive to Tofino I was happy with the perfomance and went with a steering wheel instead.

I was close to buying the Cusco or DAMD. They felt very close to stock so I wanted something a bit more obvious. I really love this wheel.

Installation was quite easy thanks to all the videos out there especially FT86speedfactory.

Matte Black Vinyl Wrapped passenger dash piece + Lip Cam

After installing the steering wheel the mismatched CF trim and the 86 CF Trim bothered me. So I thought it would be fun to take a shot at some vinyl wrapping.

I can see how addicting this can be.

Also added a front lip cam to one of my existing centre console switches.
My HU already has a front cam app. I wanted the ability to turn the camera off when its not in use.

Rear Speaker LED

I use my kids as an excuse to do all these mods....Told my daugter I would install a cool light for her in the back so it wont be too dark driving at night.

Taking off the rear panel to get into the speaker area was extremely easy. 3 pop tabs and pull. Removing the rear bottom seat helps too.

Its been a longtime since I have posted in this forum, the car has been in storage for the last 2 years since my new condo only has 1 parking spot. There was a lot of excitement for the new GR86 and I followed the development closely. Had the idea of maybe purchasing a 4 seater now that my kids are older. Tested out many cars thinking maybe one would stick. WRX, GR86, UX250H, IS300, Stinger, RAV 4 Prime and entertained the waiting list for GR Corolla and C8 Corvette

Seems like most of the cars I like require a long waiting list. To be honest since the pandemic started I have put under 5000k on the family car. Once I see the prices at the gas station I completely get turned off from purchasing any car.

So I decided to take 'Hachi' (my 86) out of storage and have a second round of mods and have some fun. My wish is to pass this car to my daughter as a 'retro classic' and rebadge as Scion. Similar to the Datsun back in the day.

Gruppe S Unequal Length Headers

After the OFT stage 1 tune, I was very satisfied but of course that lasted a few months and wanted bit more. Decided to go the NA route and aim for the stage 2 OFT tune for UEL headers. Looking at sooo many brands I ended up pulling the trigger on Gruppe S. Tomei were on the list too. They seem to be good bang for the buck.
