I used the nylon plug in this thread instead of doing anything with the tube:

I only made it four months until it started to drive me crazy. Not so much the sound but all that wasted space in my engine compartment. I decided on the aftermarket intake sound delete option rather then just simply plugging the hole.

+1
Mishimoto intake tube and remove all the junk.
I can't believe how much more quite the cabin is. I wouldn't have guessed it would have made a huge difference but it does.

Did you get the Mishimoto intake as well? If you did how do you like it and are there any caveats I should be aware of on the install that wasn't pointed out by the manufacturer?

Lol.. But with flair..
I read the other 237 threads.. But didn't think it would make that much of a difference. I figured there would be less noise.. I didn't think it would improve the overall sound..

The cabin sound is as refined as a sub $30k sports car can get!

Ya people don't realize just how bad that noise is till it is gone. Showed the trick to dealership so they can plug if test drivers complain about noise.

Whaddya mean, works great. I get home from work before I left. Sounds good in theory, til it's time to go to work again. I need it to reset it to land on weekends only.
