2003 Mustang GT >3300 lbs/260 hp = 12.69 lbs/hp
1998 Mustang GT >3300 lbs/225 HP = 14.67 lbs/hp
1993 Mustang GT >3160 lbs/205 hp = 15.41 lbs/hp

I thought we were talking about how you think modern V6 pony cars aren't enough power for your manly needs. Guess it's all subjective now...

ND Miata: 2330 lbs/155 hp = 15.03 lbs/hp
V6 Pony Car: ~3500 lbs/305 hp = 11.47 lbs/hp
V6 Challenger: ~3850/305hp = 12.62 lbs/hp

They're not. You are missing quite a bit of factors with some of these cars. It isn't all as simple as power to weight. Torque, gearing, the powerband of certain motors you're showcasing here.... one dataset does not make the story of a full car. It was pretty well known most of the base gt mustangs were slouches though. The four cam and special versions were the fast ones out of the box. Those are mustangs though.... not sure how we got on to mustangs specifically lol.

For the record, the SVT cobra of 03-04 for comparison.

3665 lbs. 360 hp = 10.18 lbs / hp

Sorry, bro, can't keep up with your shifting goalposts in my slow FR-S, enjoy the next sucker to come along and argue with you.

*I only looked at Mustangs because Chevy didn't develop the Camaro for a decade and I was on my phone.

and a twin with FI at like 8-10 psi and a conservative tune is 2750/320bhp = 8.6 no FI and just e85 2750/230 = 11.9...

FI AND E85 2750/380BHP= 7.23 which you would need 475+ to match in a pony

The platform has zero factory support for sanctioned W2W racing and by design it really can only be competitive in one classification TCA. Even there after Rivera started showing some early domination (Road America), BOP changes sent him to the back of the pack. Now he is in a 370.

The twins will never be produced on the same scale as Mustangs and Camaros which is why you find them in far less abundance at track days as well. Fact is that many pony car owners snub the twins because they are perceived to be underpowered then find themselves humbled during track days by mildly modified 86's.

This is why I don't give a fuck about racing. It's more about the rules than anything, which means it's political racing, not car racing.
