I guess this takes a lot of the 'guess work' out of customizing a system yourself, but for $1.5k it seems expensive to me. You get a 120w subwoofer? I'm not a HS kid cranking bass all day long, but I have a 550w eD 13Ov2 and I don't think it's overpowering when I set the gains with ohm's law, etc.

It seems you are paying for the look and simplicity, but it's definitely not my cake. I'll stick with a set of components, 0 guage, 2 amps, and a 10 ID SQ or something in that Integrity Designs enclosure instead.

The Reference Series (prior to November 15) is Balanced by default (producing deep audiophile bass reproduction).

All "modifications" are already in place. Meaning the Reference 400CF is completely up to date with no pending updates.*The changes made to the system were primarily installation related (cutting the installation time in half). The front 3.5" speakers no long need to be sent in for the Bypass Umbilical Cable. Reference Upgrade Installation video to follow shortly (sorry for delay waiting on editor).

Additionally the Reference Series now includes the ability to select "What type of low frequency (bass) reproduction do you prefer." Choosing between Balanced, Full and Robust

@kludger, we'd be stoked to arrange for a Reference audition. PM us your zip code and we'll see if there is a Reference Series available near you.

All O+ tuning delivers our signature sound. Here is brief regarding each Low Freq option:

Balanced: All about detailed reproduction. Deep bass without impeding highs.
Full: For the enthusiast Driver with a Aftermarket exhaust. Rich bass sound.
Robust: Max impact sound. Bass that is felt without the loss of clarity.

@oemaudioplus -
Thanks! I placed my order late last night. Do you have the install guide (or video) of the Reference 400CF system? I only see the 400+ manual.

@tonystewart unfortunately there is no upgrade cost currently for the SL Series. The single SL currently being offered is very much a one-off system. If the product goes into full production we anticipate there being an upgrade cost (taking in to consideration your original purchase).

Frequency selection only applies to the Reference Series. The System 400+ delivers our signature clarity and bass reproduction the moment you plug it in. It is the Reference Series that allows another level of control for the Reference owner.

The Reference Install guide will come with your kit + the Reference video addendum should be up shortly - We'll post on this thread ASAP.

Glad to help @lbroskee & @TemeCal!! Be sure to provide you feedback regarding the install and sound reproduction for your fellow FT86Club members - no holds barred. (Share the link with us via PM and we'll feature on the FT86CLUB / O+ Classifieds post).
