I'm looking forward to trying the new one, I tried the old 2.0T and didn't like it I'm hoping I have a better experience with it next time.

He absolutely loves it. BTW, he drive a IPL G37S coupe 6MT. He is currently thinking about selling his G37 and picking up a GC 2.0T. Saw him last night and he couldn't stop gushing praises for the car. So I guess we really should wait and give the GC a fair shake.
What's the pricing on it again?

If it's priced good, then yeah sure I'd give it a shot...... just hate the fact it's so tall. I like low cars

It starts at 25,125 for the 2.0T. The base R-spec is 27,375

The 3.8 R-Spec is a pretty good deal.

Yeah if you like smaller cars then cars like the GC will probably not be your cup of tea, but if you're looking for a bang for the buck car with room to spare then it might fit.

I like that Hyundai is improving their quality and performance.

I like that they make the Genesis Coupe where a lot of manufacturers would fear to tread.

But I will never own a Hyundai. As a parts wholesaler, I know how much of a PITA it is to get Hyundai parts and how expensive they are. And parts for a low volume performance car are going to be even worse.

Hyundais are cheap to get, expensive to repair. So buy new and sell at the end of the warranty (which, thankfully, it pretty long with a Hyundai).

The 3.8 is even get some FI options now. There is a APG Rotrex SC that will put out close to 450whp (+150whp/100ft-lbs)with all the supporting mods (ie built engine). It is gonna be pricey. I think the guy spent close to $10k to get there.

I think turbokits is putting together a kit for the 3.8. Not sure about pricing but puts out around +150whp/140ft-lbs on a stock motor @ 8.65 psi on a Mustang dyno.

Will be exciting to see how that turns out now that the 3.8 is DI.

I think it shares some parts with other cars like every other manufacturer. You're the first person I ever heard say Hyundai's are expensive to keep up. It isn't a European vehicle man.

I am so glad that I don't care about making that much power. I'm the type of guy that like a sporty car with power that I already like out the box.

I agree. I haven't heard anyone complain about maintenance costs on their Hyundai before. It isn't like it is a VW/Audi.

True. But there are some people who have complained about there not being enough aftermarket options for the GC in particular the 3.8. Was just showing that there are options coming out for those that want added power.

^ Could be because they're still under warranty for the most part?

If they use only domestically sourced parts (ie nothing in common with the rest of the world) I could see that being true, but I doubt that they do. I think the auto trans in the Genesis is from Aisin.

I have to order parts for shops, and Korean cars are just as hard to get parts as European cars. Parts take longer to make it into the aftermarket, and those that do are lower in production and not as available. There's always the dealership, but then my customers are paying dealership prices.

But Hyundai builds a lot of there cars in America now. The 3.8 liter engine is built in there Alabama plant. So wouldn't the parts for that engine be in America already? My cousin owns a sonata and he said it isn't pricey to maintain.
