Those renders are too tame. The Toyota looks too much like a BRZ. Toyota clearly wanted a visual distinction between the 86 and the BRZ hence the revised front end on the latest version. I think going forward they will push for an even more dramatic difference between the twins. Just like Firebird/Camaro or Challenger/Cuda the future twins will show more differences than similarities.

If they put these on the Prius and Corolla they sure as hell are not going that tame with the 86. We can expect something along these lines.

So not even close! A guess at what was under the camo at best. They don't even have a camoed 86 to guess at so their renders are pure imagination at this point.

Correct. Either way new 86/BRZ will have totally different chassis anyways, so rending off current chassis is pointless.

Actually, I think I found it, and for all those wanting it, they did lighten it, shorten the wheelbase and make it a two seater....

Would love to show you something official but it isn't something thy will ever publish. It is a compromise to meet standards. if it wasn't there then there could be something even worse they would have to do. The very fact that it can be tuned out when you throw all the required emission controls out the window support this.

naw, that was indeed one of their more recent renders based off the 2017-2018 mules and they modified an official FT1 image.. Those 2 mags are also their renders but very old and made long before the production based mules were running around in camo..

It a very good fit, and the whole top basically rolled up and could be put i the back or the back seat taking up very little room. You actually couldn't tell from a distance it wasn't a hard panel (see it in the background behind my MR2 below).



I thought the car looked good with the panel off as well. I don't have a photo but this is a same year Firebird that had the treatment done to it.

That's an interesting setup. Never seen that before. Factory ttops were not the greatest in that car, but I wouldn't want one without them!

I absolutely loved it. You got very little wind or wind noise from it in the car.

The dealer where I bought mine also had an aftermarket convertible, but I didn't like it as much. It made it a two seater, and got rid of everything behind the a-pillar on the roof. It also looked like a crap conversion up close. This is a good example of it. Where the fiberglass rear deck met the car had a "unfinished" look up close.
