Picked up my 2017 last night, and it looks even better in person. So glad I went with black...until I have to wash it daily I'm sure 🙄

I may have the first one
in CT...? No dealer I could find in state had any for sale every time I checked, and I've been looking since the day Toyota put them on the website.

I don't know If anyone spotted this, but look like the seat we got in Nord America is exclusive.

It's a mix of the base BRZ fabric in the middle, with the Release 1.0 T shape logo and silver stitching.

In Japan, they got the silver stitching (and more colors options) in GT and GT LIMITED trim. In GT, the seat with silver stitching is in "black suede" like the 13-16 but without any logo or anything else. GT LIMITED is premium seat with leather.

In Europe, It's the same thing as Japan but they only have 2 colors option (Red stitch - Silver stitch)

Pretty cool, since they are really great looking seat.

An other thing I've noted, the suede dash panel is only in high line model in Japan/Europe. The GT in Japan and base model in Europe have the older carbon fiber look dash panel.

Just so you know that T shaped logo on the seats isn't specific to the RS 1.0. Most higher trim 86s have that pattern.

Facelifted Toyota 86 Arrives In Europe With Track Mode, Starts From £25,495 In The UK

Quote:
After it replaced the Scion FR-S in North America earlier this year, the Toyota 86 is now available in European markets.

Priced from £25,495 ($33,732) in the United Kingdom, where it will go on sale from October, it features a new 'Track' mode, which allows the driver to adjust the level of stability and traction control, and includes a 'fully off' option.

For improved handling, the body structure is now stiffer, particularly at the rear, where key components have been made thicker and additional spot welding has been introduced; Toyota has also retuned the Showa shock absorbers.

On the outside, the popular front-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car has a redesigned nose section, which is not just about looking good, but helps smooth the airflow, as the company explains. It also has new LED headlights, and relocated turn signals from the front bumper to the headlamp clusters, while at the other end, the lighting units and bumper have been tweaked.

Inside, the automaker has fitted the 2017 GT 86 with a new 3-spoke steering wheel, which is said to have the smallest design for a production Toyota, with a 362 mm (14.25 in) diameter, equipped with auxiliary audio and display controls and adorned with a prominent silver 86 logo. The cabin also features a reoriented tachometer and a fresh 4.2-inch TFT multi-info display, which shows the fuel economy, journey distance, power and torque curves, and it also has a stopwatch and a G-force monitor.

Powered by the same 2.0-liter boxer engine with 197 horsepower, which can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, the sports car is offered in two versions: GT86 and GT86 Pro.

The former comes with standard adaptive LED headlights, keyless entry and go, hill start assist, cruise control, electrically-operated heated mirrors with folding function and aluminum sport pedals, while the latter adds a rear spoiler, heated front seats, leather and Alcantara upholstery, suede-effect finish for the door trims and dashboard and leather driver's armrest.

Both models benefit from the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen, DAB tuner and Bluetooth, but as an option, this can be upgraded to the Toyota Touch 2 with Go, adding sat-nav, and access to on-line services and social media channels. Other options include the black clothc upholstery with red inserts on the seats and door trims for the GT86, and a similar treatment for the part-leather and Alcantara in the GT86 Pro.

This red....wow. Luscious to the max. Too bad its all marketing , the real thing won't look anything like this render.

Interior looks so much better with the armrest, it's still not an option in Canada for either of the twins.

The seats look really good with the colored trim, and arm rests in doors. How cushiony are the arm rests in the door? I find mine(2013) to be way too soft do your elbow "pokes" thru it and just presses into the hard plastic underneath. Are the arm rests in door swappable?

It would be nice if they offered it in more colors. I would add yellow and a darker red. I never been a fan of that bright @ss red.

Could just be an omission in the render.

You can order the armrest piece through some online shops, and it will be the real OEM part. Only concern would be if the stitching matched. I have the sliding armrest that was in some NA models (RS 2.0 for me), and while it's useful, the design is somewhat infuriating. Half of the cup holders are permanently blocked. How does that make any sense? Looks nice though...
