If this smells like desperation, I wonder what dealerships who have failed customers smell like

Don't worry , they can become purveyors of automobiles to kangaroos.

Do they have to pull the motor to drop the oil pan? The tech at the dealer says they do. I'm bringing my car back tomorrow because of a terrible clattering rattle on warm startup, sometimes cold too if it came off a hard run before I parked it. The tech agreed with me that it sounds like partially clogged oil pickup and wants to drop the pan and find out but I'm afraid they're going to get in there and it's clean and they're going to hit me with a huge bill for pulling the motor and there's nothing wrong.

My comment was directed at what appeared to be an ambulance chaser coming in here looking for business. Also made an appearance in another thread.
I imagine that will be the only comments they will make in here. Probably just doing a driveby where any twin owners congregate online. Any of the people
who have a 13' with or without the recall work done have my full sympathy for what they may or will go through.

No they should not have the pull the engine JUST for the oil pan.
If that was the case then every person who put a turbo kit on their car with the oil return to the pan would've pulled the engine...and you can imagine how expensive that turbo kit just became. Know what I mean?

Further proof.

An article mentioned the recall affects frs' manufactured from 2012 to July 2013. Weren't some 2014 models manufactured in July 2013?

Yes but later in the year. The recall is for the early VIN number cars.

keep your mouth closed, think before you type dude.

My valve train sounds like an out of tune school band at start up but has yet to pop. Almost switched to a golf R but held off for now. I try not to think about it but the car is harder to enjoy now.
