Perrin exhaust resonance

I have a Perrin 2.5" resonated exhaust and it is overall very good. I do, however get a low frequency resonance between around 2700 and 3200 rpms that is more intrusive than any other rpms. Is this experienced by others with the Perrin? I have no other exhaust modifications. Thank you for your thoughts.

I find mine is most boomy around 2000-2500rpm, 2.5" resonated cat back and their 2.5" catted front pipe.

...........one thing I forgot to mention, it seems to be intermittent. Meaning that most of the time it is insignificant. Other times less so. What would an HKS front pipe offer?

He's probably referring to the HKS front pipe with dual resonators. Although not guaranteed, it might help with that drone you're experiencing.

I have a Perrin 3" resonated. I get the resonance around 2500 RPM and causes my rear deck to buzz.

The solution I've found is to gas the car harder and keep the RPMS in the 3000 RPM range and it goes away. It's more apparent with the AC on for me. You can also turn on the music louder or crack a window to increase some background noise.

Try checking if everything is tightened to spec. My friend and I both have Perrin 3", and his exhaust was a little louder/had resonance compared to mine until he retightened it.

It could be how much throttle is applied. I know mine seems more boomy when I am barely on throttle but still accelerating a bit and it is around the RPM range. More gas solves it

I used to have the same problem. I fixed it by getting a turbo and a nameless 3" catted and resonated front/over pipe. Maybe try that and see if it goes away?

Running a 2.5 with a JDL header and I only hear drone when I'm in cruise control on the highway. Otherwise it is very tame and does what I want it to do.

What is your header and overpipe? What did you use for gaskets?

I have tried adjusting and tightening things a couple of times. The vee bands had come slightly below original torque settings.
Because of the intermittent nature of the resonance this is most likely. And the interesting thing is since I started this post this there has been virtually no instance of the resonance. Perhaps it was struggling with the change of seasons and has settled again?
