How long does opti coat last?
For those of you who have gotten it or apply it.
How long is the coating supposed to last given regular wash / rinsing as needed?

from what I gather, it's supposed to be considered permanent. with proper upkeep, you won't need to reapply or wax ever again

That's what I've gathered from reading here but wanted a straight answer. I've just been told that it generally lasts 2 years from another source so I wanted to verify with the community.

I don't think it lasts forever. It lasts a very long time though. Much longer than regular wax.

Don't go thinking that with OG you can just run through automatic car washes (the type with brushes) and not hurt anything, but even a touchless automatic shouldn't really affect it. It is a resin-based coating that chemically cross-links just like clear coat as it cures, and surface abrasion is the only way to remove it.
