Rear bumper damage

Hi guys my car was parked in my parking garage and the guy next to me backed out and hit my back end and tore my back bumper off. All the support brackets busted also the backup light wires ripped out. The bumper is not really damaged and Im thinking I could put it back on myself. The repair shop estimated the damage at $3100. My ins co's estimate was $1300. Huge difference!. The guy that hit me has no Insurance and driving on a restricted license. WTF!!!. Does anyone know where I can get a diagram showing how the brackets attach to the car and to the bumper. And wondering if I can rewire the back up light.Or should I just have the shop do it and forget about it?...HELP!..

Well, Cobaltbloo, that's too damn bad -

If you check out @Ultramaroon 's sig line, he has a link to a handy picture book that you may find helpful.

Can you rewire the light. Could be, if you are handy that way.

Too bad the jerk that hit you didn't have insurance. Isn't insurance required in California to register a car?

I hope you get it back together soon.

It is. The problem is you only need to present proof once a year. Or when ever you get pulled over by a cop.

Here are my thoughts as to why they don't
1. Irresponsible people.
2. Cheap bastards
3. Price of insurance is more than the cars worth.
4. So poor that it's either food or insurance.
