My bossboss has a 911 with PDK. He was not happy when he asked me what the translation is (I speak German) and I said Porsche Driver Development Kit.

Do you mean the meaning of PDK? I think that it means Porsche Doppelkupplung which is the double clutch. Kupplung is the clutch.

Anyways, I am not saying that they are not nice cars. They are just not perfect. I like also that they are using Panasonic computers for their PIWIS diagnostic system. Not a coincidence that they went with a Japanese manufacturer for their workshop tools

He was kidding his boss about his driving ability. Pretty sure he actually knows what it stands for.
The "Woosh" just meant the joke went over your head.
All is good.

I think this is an interesting Porsche vs BRZ/86 comparison. The 944 seemed to have a similar ethos, a light weight, cheap entry level sports car.

944? i just puked a little in my mouth. No thanks. Even as a kid, when I saw the car new, I thought it was an ugly, poor man's Porsche. Also, there was nothing entry level about it. I think it'd be 80k+ in today's dollars.

I am not an EV fanboy and hate to admit it but if you are into launches and stoplight battles, a Tesla Model 3 with performance pack will destroy 99.9% of supercars and even bikes. They are not race cars but they are king going from stoplight to stoplight within a city block. There is no fuss with launch control, even granny can stomp on the gas and hit 60 at 3.5s or less each and every time, and that's on all season tires. Slap on some sticky summer tires on them and the instant torque + grippy tire and its the perfect weapon. I saw a P100D destroy a superbike at the stoplight, it was something else

The 944 was my dream car as a kid. Nowadays they stick to mid- and rear- engine sport cars, so not interested to the brand at all.

Front-mid, rear-mid or either? Just curious.

In preparation for the Porsche Taycan vs BRZ thread.
