Scion Drops the ball...

So i waited and waited since 2009 like all of us. Then in past few days i joined the site and was so excited to see such beautiful cars the Toyota 86 and the Subie BRZ. Low on power but high on looks i figured i can live with that. By the time the warranty is up there will be aftermarket parts galore and i can make it my supercar.

* GAVE US BAD FRONT LIGHTS
* NO FOG LIGHTS
* RADIO FROM A 1990 PICKUP TRUCK
* SILVER MPH GAUGE
* DESTROYED AN HVAC SYSTEM THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND FOOLED ME INTO THINKING IT WAS A GT-R FOR A MOMENT.
* NO PUSH BUTTON START!!!!!!
* DID THEY JUST START THE REAR SEAT BACKS AND THEN GO TAKE LUNCH?

ANY THOUGHTS?

Everyone here wanted cheap, I don't know how they can expect to get options for cheap too.

Front lights-meh, retrofit?
Fog lights-it'll be an accessory you can add
radio-I'd rather put my own McIntosh in, i'd be content if it didn't have one at all
HVAC-Yeah this was a real shame to be honest...but we haven't heard a final price yet, this may be well justified.

Push button start and heated seats are luxury and convenience amenities which add cost and weight.

Exhaust tips are because of US regulations and heated seats suck.

Maybe its just me, but why is it people keep bitching. (Sorry I couldn't find a more befitting word.) If you don't like the Scion, as many people have said, buy the BRZ or import one. Without pricing, aimlessly bitching about things is kinda pointless.

Are you honestly buying the car because of how the rear seats look? I think most of us on the forums are buying the car for one primary reason, and that is how it performs.

I can understand your frustrations with a few things, but its nothing that can't be fixed and or replaced.

Just my two cents.

I couldn't agree more ._. I find myself starting to read a post, notice its the same type of complaining, and then i just skip the rest of the post.

I just get the feeling everyone wants a super car for free and are hoping for miracles

Well,
Hyundai seem to option their cars really well for a very reasonable price.

There's no other way to say this this, Scion is a low end brand and they are trying to lose as little money (bc I read somewhere that toyota/subaru are losing money on this apparently) as possible by cheapening the interior and exterior as much as they can.

Sure you get the driving dynamics and all that this is supposed to be, but I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed and move to the BRZ bc of the cheap interior. I think some will pay a bit more to have a daily driver with good driving dynamics while being surrounded in a nice environment.

I think it's perfect, but I might be in the minority. I wanted a low-spec 86 because I'm looking daily driver during the week and an auto-x/track car for the weekend, and none of those gadgets do me any good other than to take $$$ out of my tire budget... this fits the bill perfectly at about $40k less than a Porsche Cayman R.

But what if you like the look of the toyota front end and want the above?

The OP's point is the Japanese get the best of everything, be it BRZ or 86 and we get the shaft as per usual. I'm somewhat disappointed, but the only thing I really want in the FRS is the heated seats and the LED/HID headlights. Up here in Vancouver it gets freaking cold. Heated seats are amazing.

I would love to see the dual climate/nicer back seat/push start as an option for the FRS.

I'm guessing you've never had heated seats?
cooled seats are also a wonderful invention for the hot summers!
