JMS put something together in literally 5 mins, i have no idea what it was but i did not use it since it loses hp. I think they used a cut samco hose and a aluminum plug, literally took 5 mins to fab something to cover the hole.

Interesting on the sound tube delete. Thanks for the pics!
My point exactly. This post is pointless.

Contrary to all the Zzs out there, thanks for sharing your results and taking the time to document everything.

It's great to have more and more baseline data on the car!

I assume 93 gas?
How dose the sound tube work? Dose it pull air through it as well? Interesting you got more power with it.

No idea how it works but i know it directs sound to through the firewall, i was so surprised deleting it made a loss in power.

The sound tube is supposed to bring the sound into the cabin of the car. It is weird it causes a loss of power.

How many miles were on the car when you did these runs?

Is the sound tube hollow? How is it connected to the main intake, meaning can air go from the intake into the sound tube?

If the sound tube delete lost power Im guessing it pulls air through it or it has something to do with turbulence.

I would think it's hollow. If you look at this picture, the airbox is in the top right corner, and the red plug is where the sound tube would connect to.

There is no air that passes through the sound tube.

When Injen put my intake on, they also did a sound tube delete, and it's clear that it's a path for sound waves, only.

Deleting the sound tube does not lose power, what lost power was allowing the car the cool off between runs. Pcasso if you have a chance do back to back runs with out letting the car cool offf once the sound tube has been removed. When I dyno'd my car the last of three back to back pulls always showed the highest torque and horsepower figures, and once I let the car cool off, I was back to square one, even after removing the sound tube. Scientifically, do three runs, back to back to back. Do not let the car cool off, then do three back to back to back runs with the tube removed, all you have to do is disconnect it, and install the plug (taking the time to completely remove it will allow the car to cool off. I learned this from experience.

I wonder if you just did three runs back-to-back with no changes whatsoever - what would be the normal run-to-run variations? Seems like these small changes could well be within the "noise" and natural variation of the system.
